PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Accountant's responsibility is to provide timely and accurate internal financial reporting across all geographic and product lines and sales channels.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Month End closing duties (25%)

  • Review and reserach of Chrome River GL activity
  • Review of channel trial balances
  • All necessary month end journal entries completed and reviewed.
  • Allocations completed for direct cost and manufacturing variances monthly
  • Tracking of channel P&L’s vs. Plan and PY
  • Review of sales channel Internal Orders to ensure proper allocation of dollars

Month End Financial Reporting completed (25%)

  • Assist with Corporate P&L package as needed
  • Hyperion Planning Actuals completed monthly
  • Utilize and understanding of BW reports
  • Maximizes functionality of financial reporting systems (SAP, HFM, HP, Smartview, BW, etc.)

General Ledger account reconciliation and analysis (10%)

  • Update monthly all account reconciliation for the balance sheet accounts by sales channel
  • Assists with quarterly review of all division subsidiary BS reconciliations to support JE policy

Spending Analysis provided to department heads and managers to include Advertising and Administration (20%)

  • Trade show and meeting analysis completed and communicated monthly
    • Set up of Internal Orders annually and as needed                           
  • Administrative expense analysis published including BvA.
  • Advertising reporting vs. budget at a project level completed monthly
    • Set up of Internal Orders annually and as needed
    • Set up of Plant Trial requests regularly
    • Assist with Plant Trial (Experimental) Run process
    • Publish monthly Advertising reporting by division for ISB&D, ISB&D Direct Chains, FSD, DSD Ingredients & D071
  • Any issues or concerns are researched and resolved

Customer P&L Reporting (10%)

  • Reconcile and review total customer by division  monthly
  • Follow up on any review notes from Assistant Controller or Division Finance Associate.
  • Publish bi-annually Top customer P&L’s by channel

Assist with Year End Audit (5%)

  • Prepare year end audit schedules for all balance sheet accounts
  • Prepare variance analysis relating to appropriate P&L account groups
  • Provide insight and analysis to Ernst & Young as required
  • Review of subsidiary audit packages as needed

Ad Hoc projects and requests (5%)

  • As required
  • Complete applicable governmental censuses timely
  • Speed to Market quarterly reporting          
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelors Degree in Accounting
  • Minimum 1-3 years relevant experience
  • Understanding of GAAP & FASB pronouncements
  • Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrates prioritizing, planning and organization skills
  • Good PC skills, proficiency with Windows, MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and effectively meet deadlines.
