Accounting Clerk

Perform accounting and clerical tasks related to the efficient maintenance and processing of accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions

  • Process all carrier invoices
  • Accountable for obtaining any necessary paperwork not provided as well as analyzing and problem solving any billing discrepancies
  • Interact daily with dispatch associates to resolve billing issues and problems
  • Responsible for all carrier inquiries to ensure that they are handled efficiently and professionally
  • Responsible for Com Check distribution and documentation
  • Find and retrieve information from files in response to requests from authorized users.
  • Obtain any needed Proof of Delivery’s that are requested
  • Perform periodic inspections of accounts payable materials and/or files in order to ensure correct placement, legibility, and proper condition
  • Process various check requests
  • Monitor carrier accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Research all open payments on account or unapplied cash
  • Initiate requests for reimbursements to customers of credit balances when appropriate
  • Handle reversing of transaction (only when necessary)
  • Perform general office duties such as data entry, operating office machines, sorting mail, etc.
  • Associate degree required - Accounting or Business Administration
  • Two or more years of  accounting experience preferred
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook  
  • Strong written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Transportation experience helpful, but not required
  • Strong ability to organize and work independently
