Business Process Consultant

Lead, drive and implement business process transformation and improvement programs/initiatives. Provide strategic and tactical support for multi-functional teams. Align Business & IS strategies. Collaborate with process owners and business unit(s) to identify and recommend process change and technology insertion opportunities that drive improvement linked to strategic imperatives.  Provide program & project planning, budgeting and oversight.


  1. Process Design, Improvement, Measurement, & Implementation (70%)
  • Act as the authority on process across business competencies to help prioritize business requirements and identify areas of opportunity/improvement
  • Foster strong customer relations within areas of responsibility and ensure alignment with business process leaders, functional leaders, and customer journey owners
  • Plan and lead business process design activities, including working with executives to define required outcomes, scope initiatives, and design innovative business solutions that include people, process and technology components
  • Facilitate business case development
  • Establish metrics to effectively implement process change
  • Document and redesign business processes, using appropriate tools and methodologies
  • Facilitate organizational change
  • Promote and nurture the concept of Business Process Management
  • Develop a central “living” repository for business processes; Ensure integrity of process documentation
  • Help to ensure that the project/program/enhancement delivers the anticipated benefits
  1. Relationship Management (15%)
  • Ensure alignment with corporate strategies, objectives and initiatives through active participation in the business planning process. Maintain alignment with IT architecture strategies and support the implementation of common systems.
  • Plan and run projects/programs to drive business process improvement
  • Promote horizontal and vertical communications between project teams and the rest of the organization; Assist with team and organization interfaces
  1. Business Architecture (15%)
  • Create models that provide a common understanding of the enterprise and are used to align strategic objectives and operational demands
  • Use the above models to help business leaders navigate organization complexity, make more informed decisions and drive more effective strategy execution

  • Business knowledge

  • Project management experience, including definition of project plans, management of project budget, and the supervision of project associates
  • Experience using process modeling tools and methodologies such as Six Sigma
  • Experience implementing and/or supporting application systems

  • Facilitation skills
  • Business change management and communication
  • Business case development: identifying the benefits” (e.g., Return on Investment) associated with strategic business initiatives.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills across all levels of the organization
  • Strong PC skills



  • Degree Requirements:
    • Bachelors Degree preferably in Business, MIS, Science, Math, Engineering or related field
    • MBA or equivalent experience
  • Relevant Work Experience:
    • Minimum seven (7) years Process Design and Improvement - experience in various core business processes (i.e., Market and Sell Products, Order-to-Cash, etc.) or comparable experience implementing and supporting information systems for the relevant business area
    • Minimum seven 7 years Project Management, preferred
  • Certifications
    • Business Process Management preferred
    • Six Sigma Green or Black Belt Certification preferred
    • Project Management preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership ability
  • Ability to:
    • Lead projects;
    • Establish relationships with key managers;
    • Effectively influence and sell ideas, concepts and solutions;
    • Analyze and redesign business processes;
    • Effectively “multi-task” and prioritize;
    • Understand the strategic landscape and tactical/functional implications;
    • Move fluidly among business, behavioral and technology competencies and abilities;
    • Utilize problem/symptom reduction techniques to isolate requirements and value-added solutions;
  • Up to 25% of travel to support project requirements
