PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Research & Development, Global Technology Team current has a great internship opportunity for a Industrial/Packaging Design Intern.  The intern will support various packaging design projects for the Packaging Engineering Team.  This position will be occupied by a student in the midst of their Industrial/Product design degree, usually at the 3rd or 4th year.  The intern will be able to work remotely if necessary.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Articulate themselves verbally in order to communicate their ideas clearly to others
  • Participate effectively in brainstorming events and be confident in presenting ideas
  • Communicate ideas and concepts clearly through hand drawn visuals and renderings
  • Translate two dimensional concepts into computer generated models and renderings
  • Translate computer data into three dimensional models and prototypes to prove their concepts
  • Demonstrate a willingness to learn new skills and take the initiative to solve problems

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Must be enrolled in an accredited institution with a major in Industrial Design, Product Design or similar field.
  • Strong design and storytelling skills
  • Strong sketching ability, and ability to visualize ideas by hand as you are 3D modeling surfaces in CAD
  • Candidates should demonstrate their ability to evolve design ideas, translating 3D design, into high fidelity visualizations, animations or video that supports design strategy
  • Well versed in hand sketching and prototype model making
  • Well versed in software tools: Adobe CS, Photoshop, illustrator, After effects (a bonus
  • CAD software: Solidworks
  • Rendering software: Rhino or Alias, Keyshot
