PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Manager, Demand Creation Analytics is responsible for advancing Demand Creation analytics capabilities by prioritizing the biggest opportunities for analytics, working with the master data team to align and build data sources,

Drive innovation in exploiting data and building Rich’s Demand Creation analytics IQ.  Works closely with the Demand Creation program business leads and resources, data governance leaders, project/program managers, and other IT teams to turn data into insights that can drive business outcomes.  Drives findings using experimental and iterative approach, and presents back findings to the business including assumptions and recommended actions in a way that can be easily understood.

 

The Manager, Demand Creation Analytics must have a solid understanding of the business, stakeholders, processes, business rules, guidelines associated with data sources, customer hierarchies and business dimensions to deliver value from analytics.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Analytics Strategy & Program Development

  • Works with key stakeholders to identify the business requirements and the expected outcome of analytics efforts.
  • Models and frames business scenarios that are meaningful and which impact on critical business processes and/or decisions. 
  • Works with DC program team to prioritize use cases for the analytics program.
  • Identifies what data is available and relevant, including internal and external data sources, leveraging new data collection processes as required. 
  • Collaborates with subject matter experts and DC program team to select the relevant sources of information.
  • Works with IT teams to support data collection, integration, and retention requirements based on the input collected with the business. 
  • Ensures that use cases are scalable and repeatable.
  • Identifies and selects analytics partners to extend capability, and aligned with needs of the business.

 

Oversees Analysis

  • Works with internal and external resources to solve analytics problems and communicates results and methodologies.
  • Works in iterative processes with the business and validates findings.
  • Assesses, with the business, the expected outcome and source of the information in support of the use case.
  • Defines the validity of the information, how long the information is meaningful, and what information it is related to.
  • Works with the customer data steward and data analyst to ensure that the required information is available.
  • Qualifies where information can be stored or what information, external to the organization, should be sourced in support of the use case.
  • Tests and learns to optimize approaches and methodologies.

 

Presents Findings & Drives Action

  • Presents and depicts the rationale of their findings in easy to understand terms for the business.
  • Presents back results that challenge the status quo and enable the business to take action and drive outcomes.
  • Communicates and works with business subject matter experts to develop relevant conclusions and next best course of action
  • Works with business to develop plan of action based on findings
  • Educates the organization both from IT and the business perspectives on new approaches.  Helps the organization understand the principles and process to drive organizational buy-in.

 

Measures Impact

  • Measures impact based on findings to ensure execution of relevant outcomes and validation of hypotheses.
  • Provides business metrics for the overall use case to measure improvement vs hypothesis/target

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s in Information Systems, Business Analytics or relevant field; MBA or MS in Analytics preferred.
  • Minimum five (5) years of relevant quantitative and qualitative research and analytics experience.
  • The ability to come up with solutions to loosely defined business problems by leveraging pattern detection over potentially large datasets.
  • Strong programming and statistical modeling skills.
  • Proficiency in statistical analysis, quantitative analytics, forecasting/predictive analytics, multivariate testing, and optimization algorithms.
  • Experience using machine learning algorithms a plus.
  • Knowledge of sales, marketing or other business/functional areas.
  • Ability to influence to drive change & business outcomes.
  • High degree of understanding of an organization’s key processes as well as the business hierarchies including sales channels, systems and processes.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to navigate ambiguity, make recommendations and execute with limited information
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including solid presentation abilities
  • Experience including Master Data, SAP (ECC and PLM). Knowledge of current technologies such as MDM tools.  Business knowledge of the Demand Creation and CRM Processes.  Technology (system), process and implementation experience required. 
  • Solid software proficiency including Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word (Intermediate to advanced level Excel and PowerPoint User)
  • Individual must be a fast learner and able to assimilate new software, procedures and techniques; demonstrated passion for content, media, marketing, and the Internet
