PURPOSE STATEMENT

Orchestrate strategic network design analysis requirements including the analysis & recommendation of alternatives for both transformational and incremental network improvement initiatives in alignment with our short and long term strategic plans.  Position will work directly with senior leaders from SC Operations, CS&L, & Procurement as well as CBU leaders to align our network requirements to deliver strategic capability, cost, and performance objectives. This role will partner with functional leaders to coordinate the analytic activity within all SC functions. Lead a team of analysts to develop tools and process improvement methods that lead to increased efficiencies within the supply chain. Gather complex data across multiple platforms to ensure business practices exceed cost effective measures set by the organization. Create data analytics models using business intelligence tools which drive continuous improvements.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Develop process to understand and extract Network Design Requirements from USC Regional & CBU Strategic Plans.
  • Develop a core capability on network optimization to lead relevant, high value projects across our USC business.
  • Lead and develop a team of SC analysts to evaluate, identify, and recommend changes to our SC network, customer order management, and FG & RM inventory management to drive annual SC cost reductions, cost control, or improved performance.
  • Partner with Transportation and Warehousing Category leads to align data and manage network requirements and decisions impacting location and throughput activity of service providers
  • Develop process to continuously evaluate the Manufacturing and Distribution network design to align with 5-year strategic narrative requirements of USC Region and support IBP plan execution
  • Accountable for the comprehensive analysis of network alternatives and associated impacts for adding or subtracting network capacity or capability
  • Primary accountability to deliver our annual savings targets (ROC’s) through network design, Inventory Management and customer programs that will drive efficiencies in our network
  • Accountable to manage all major customer efficiency initiatives requiring development of a strategy to prioritize and engage other CS&L support, supporting the Rich Experience
  • Accountable for supervising the objective analysis of FG and Raw Material management practices and for assessing adherence to best practice model objectives utilizing IQR and MRP toolsets
  • Responsible to develop and deliver across the following areas; Supply Chain Metrics & Performance Reporting and Managing and continuously improving dashboards and scorecards.
  • Supply Chain Performance and Financial Benchmarking.
  • Collaborates with IS to align key digital needs and roadmaps to advance use and automation of data and reporting.
  • Liaises with external peer group and professional associations to identify trends in analytics, score carding, technology and latest automation thinking.
  • Provides direct leadership and management of team members reporting into role. Responsible for building talent and capabilities within direct and indirect reporting relationships.
  • Mentors and coaches team in data and analytic techniques.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor of Science in operations research, management science, analytics, mathematics, information systems, logistics, transportation, engineering, computers science, operations management. Master's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Technology Management, Supply Chain Management, or related field and Six Sigma Certification preferred
  • 10 years of demonstrated strong analytical skills; especially in optimization and linear programs
    Experience must include: Data analysis and process improvement; SQL; Qlikview; Warehouse Management System; VBA; Microsoft Office Applications; Data Modeling; Network Analysis tools; ILOG, Llamasoft, Project Management, Financial Analysis
  • Experience in data mining, testing and anomaly detection techniques
  • Exceptional analytical and project management skills
  • Good relationship building skills; effectively builds trust across work groups
  • Able to think strategically and help align supply chain analysis to business strategy
  • Able to lead amidst ambiguity and change
  • Oversee responsibilities of Program Optimization Manager and Network Design Analyst
  • Prioritization of projects and analyst resource time
