We are looking for a Cost Accountant to join our team at the Fresno, CA plant. The ideal candidate will have a 4yr degree in Accounting and have professional experience in this field. We are open to considering a more recent Accounting graduate for this opportunity.  The responsibilities include directing and actively supporting the accurate development, maintenance and financial reporting of  manufacturing costs for the division, including two separate processing facilities, in accordance with financial guidelines. This role will work directly with all levels of associates at the plant up to the plant manager. 


  • Develop direct and indirect standard costs by product for materials, labor and mfg. overhead
  • Perform required system maintenance to set-up new raw material items and finished products
  • Review PPV reports and research purchases to ensure accurate PPV reporting
  • Update standard material costs on a monthly or quarterly basis
  • Prepare timely and pertinent cost variance reports and make recommendations or take action on items as needed
  • Partner with operational management to improve controls, accuracy and quality of mfg. costs and resolve extraordinary variances
  • Direct monthly finished goods inventory cycle counts and perform data entry of physical counts
  • Analyze and report on inventory variances of raw materials and finished goods
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for new and/or existing products on request
  • Participate in the monthly fiscal accounting closing process - prepare and enter journal entries and prepare and distribute operational statements
  • Contribute pertinent cost analysis associated with the annual budgeting process
  • Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations as assigned
  • Assist in the preparation of audit lead schedules and the annual audit package


  • BS in Accounting or Finance
  • 1-3 years minimum staff cost accounting level experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Willing to consider a recent Accounting graduate with less than 1yr of experience 
  • Advanced PC skills required, including Microsoft Word & Excel
  • Knowledge of GAAP and ethical standards associated with confidential and fiduciary responsibilities
  • Previous experience using SAP financial software a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills (verbal and written)
