PURPOSE STATEMENT

Monitors daily utility activities and makes the necessary decisions to successfully keep the facility clean. Supervise the utility crew and all assigned tasks to ensure that the cleaning/sanitizing procedure is properly adhered to.  Participate in necessary projects and programs to improve employee safety, production quality, and productivity.  Monitor crew working with other departments to assist in production start-up.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Safety - Provides a safe work environment for the group.
  • Budget – Clearly understand and execute labor standards and run rates to optimize product costs.
  • Food Safety – Understand food safety and GMP policies at their sites and enforce those policies.
  • Product Quality – Understands product quality checks, that they are completed, and that product meets quality standards.
  • Schedule Attainment – Coordinates people, processes, materials, and equipment to keep the line/area running. Identify interrupters that impact schedule attainment.
  • Leadership – Use Rich’s Great Leader Drivers to drive results and engagement with a team of Production Associates.
  • Rich Experience - Shows Associates the connection between what they do and Rich’s customers.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Essential duties include, but are not limited to:

 

  • Coordinate daily utility activities in to meet production needs in a safe, sanitary, cost-effective, and efficient manner that meets company food safety and quality standards.
  • Ensure food safety standards are maintained and SSOPs are followed accordingly, and perform training if needed  
  • Ensure that the assembly of machines/equipment needed for production is completed in time for production changeovers each day.
  • Confirm employees are following safety practices as well as identify and correct potential hazards
  • Identify sanitation concerns, and follow up to address concerns
  • Assist Utility team and manager as needed
  • Complies with GMP and safety and food safety standards.
  • Operate forklift and transfer materials
  • Proactive, self motivating
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Requirements

 

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Prior supervisor experience (1+ years)
  • Prior experience in a food manufacturing facility
  • Punctual and reliable work attendance
  • Adhere to and enforce all safety and quality policies and practices
  • Time management skills and ability to be self-directed
  • Attention to detail and be able to recognize sanitation concerns
  • Self-motivated, able to take initiative and use sound judgment in day-to-day decision making
  • Professional and reliable with outstanding organizational and communication skills
  • Flexible, able to work with others as a team, and to manage others
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to read, write and speak in English
  • Bilingual a plus 
  • Mechanical experience a plus
