PURPOSE STATEMENT

Summer 2022 internship**Beginning in May 2022**

 

The intern will provide support to the Marketing team in the Consumer Brands Division.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Objectives:

  • Gain an understanding of retail food industry and roles and responsibilities for marketers within the industry
  • Assist in the development and implementation of the Consumer Brands Division’s brand strategy
  • Ensure all marketing efforts serve to achieve immediate and long-term business goals, identify and execute improvements for processes and content
  • Support Breakthrough Innovation Senior Manager and SeaPak, Morey’s, Farm Rich and Private Brands Marketing teams in completing market research, forecasts, competitive analysis, campaign results, and consumer trends

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess current market landscape through store audits, social media audits or other analyses, draw conclusions on marketplace and make recommendations 
  • Conduct research to analyze market trends, customer behavior, and competitive landscape, and prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data
  • Support evaluation and establishment of 3-5 year roadmaps and setting relevant objectives 
  • Contribute to development of social media plans and initiatives. Work with agencies on execution
  • Work with team on Digital Shelf improvement opportunities
  • Research competitive manufacturing landscape and make recommendations for potential acquisitions 
  • Evaluate potential partnership opportunities for licensing within the Consumer Brands Division and present analysis and recommendation to leadership
  • Assist in communication of campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to sales team, and provide instructions for use or promotion
  • Development of Marketing materials
  • Development of externally-facing Division newsletter
  • Maintain a directory and inventory of sales support materials, ensuring all resources are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials as needed
  • Continually seek and research new sources of prospective customer data, and provide recommendations to Marketing team
  • Support event planning functions including, but not limited to, meeting arrangements, sample collection, etc. 
     

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Students must be pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree majoring in related business field
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask, prioritize and be able to successfully handle several projects at once, organizational skills are a must
  • Must be resourceful; able to figure out who or where to look for information
  • Detail oriented with solid written and verbal communication skills
  • Microsoft Office 365 proficient, and computer savvy (i.e. use of Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, OneDrive, etc.)
  • Passion for the marketing industry and it’s best practices
