Sanitation Associate

The Sanitation Technician is responsible for ensuring that sanitation is compliant with company food safety and quality standards and policies. The main purpose of the job is to maintain cleanliness of equipment, machinery and all areas relevant to the manufacturing process.


  • Observes all safety rules and regulations and reports unsafe conditions or injuries to Supervisor immediately.
  • Follows Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and all company policies.
  • Follows Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures (SSOPs) and maintains a tidy work area.
  • Follows Master Sanitation Schedule.
  • Ability to understand and follow direction.
  • Be able to use and handle chemicals in a safe manner (following chemical instructions)
  • Be able to monitor/ test cleaning and sanitizing chemicals and use in acceptable concentrations.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while completing sanitation tasks.
  • Must accurately maintain sanitation logs and forms.
  • Disassemble equipment for proper cleaning and set-up equipment/ production lines.
  • Ability to identify equipment deficiencies or areas of concern and report to management immediately.
  • Verify proper cleaning and set-up of equipment.
  • Must return all production and sanitation materials/ tools to appropriate storage locations after use.
  • Maintain good attendance and punctuality.  Must be able to work flexible hours and work overtime if required.
  • Maintain a positive and respectful attitude, co-operate with coworkers and management.
  • Other duties, as assigned by management.


  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Must be able to lift and move 25 lbs.
  • Occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs.
  • Be able to work in hot/ cold and wet conditions.
  • Required to stand and reach with hands and arms for majority of tasks.
  • Must be able to meet department, and company goals and objectives.
  • Must be able to read and understand scheduling tools (production board and schedule, and production reports).
  • Must be able to communicate in basic English, both verbally and written.
  • Must be able to listen, and follow directions from superiors.
  • Must be able to communicate with fellow coworkers to fulfill personnel requirements when/as needed.
  • Must be able to perform some problem solving techniques.
  • Must be able to instill sense of urgency to others when / as needed adhering to job requirements.
