PURPOSE STATEMENT
To deliver against Rich’s Speed To Market (STM) Process for New Product Transition in to efficient commercially profitable products.
Through effective ownership of departmental responsibilities to provide in-depth knowledge and understanding of both bakery ingredient functionality and equipment process to deliver commercially viable products whilst mitigating delivery risk.
You will work with the Bakery Process Manager during concept development working alongside departmental stakeholders and suppliers to deliver food safe commercially viable products.
You support the Bakery process Manager and deputise for TPM Process Owner Requirements
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
Accountabilities
• Support Rich’s development growth agenda with specific reference to the STM delivery process
• Deliver against the identified roles and responsibilities within the process to effectively execute concept, plant and product improvement.
• Coordinate trial requirements through effective stakeholder RACI communication.
• Maintain accurate records of all processes, trials and formulations
• Plan and organise resources to achieve delivery of trials in line with project critical paths.
• Evaluate and escalate process risk at each stage within the STM process to mitigate commercial, customer and quality impacts.
• Attend supplier meetings as required representing Rich’s during new concept development.
• Identify cost improvement initiatives through process control and work closely with the manufacturing teams to achieve these goals.
• You must always comply with Rich Products ltd Health and Safety policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
• To act as the functional and cultural “handshake” between NPD, Operations, Technical, Engineering, Supply chain and Commercial. To ensure ways of working are in collaboration and with full transparency whilst maintaining a customer, consumer and commercial approach.
• Work jointly with the developers to robustly evaluate concept risk
• Plan, lead and execute factory development trials to ensure products are manufactured consistently and are reproducible, (Test, Learn, Document & Feedback)
• Responsible for documenting and communicating changes to product formulations and processing parameters during the trialling phase.
• Evaluation of new or alternative processing methods in product application as necessary.
• Optimisation of the existing plant and facilitating innovation via new equipment or modifications
• Support TPM Process Owner for setting new product and process equipment centrelines whilst driving a proactiveTPM culture
• Work closely with NPD Business Partners to ensure timelines are robustly scoped out and delivered to meet internal and external expectations
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
Critical
• High level Bakery qualification or similar Food Manufacturing & Process knowledge.
• Recognised industry authority in the Bakery field or similar complex food manufacturing process
• Extensive knowledge across ingredients, equipment and manufacturing processes
Desirable
• Proven experience managing product validation protocols through concept to launch.
• Experience working with retail and foodservice customers within FMCG.
• Financially and commercially astute
• Understanding of continuous improvement principles
• Knowledge of Retail and Food Service ways of working
