  • The role of Category Manager will be to support the Head of Procurement in delivery of agreed objectives in line with the Procurement Strategy. This role does not have any direct line reports but does require the ability to lead cross functional teams on strategic sourcing, tender management and SRM projects across the Engineering, Facilties and Logistics categories.

This role is a 9 month Fixed Term contract


•    Help the business and overall procurement function enact positive change by developing and implementing strategic procurement strategies for your categories, ensuring to provide the best value for money, aligning with the companies overall strategic objectives both from a procurement standpoint and beyond.
•    Drive value, achieve cost savings and implement joint process improvement initiatives for assigned categories. Thereby, actively leading negotiations with suppliers to achieve cost reduction targets, putting agreements in place and appropriate SLA’s / KPI’s. 
•    Being accountable for the entirety of your categories spend. Taking the lead in sourcing the best quality suppliers, negotiating the best contracts and competently managing the supplier relationship and any associated risks for the whole contract lifecycle.
•    Create, own and implement category strategies. 
•    Conduct segmentation analysis with a view to consolidate across the existing supplier base. 
•    Develop and improve supplier performance through the use of SRM techniques. 
•    Stay abreast of the economic, technological and related developments for assigned category.
•    Lead strategic sourcing teams and act as buying category subject matter expert.
•    Lead RFI/RFP’s via our E-Procurement system, Ariba, attaining added value and cost reductions.  
•    Link in with our Global Procurement shared resource based in the US.
•    Own results, obtain buy-in and present recommendations to various internal key stakeholder groups. 
•    Analyse current processes with a view to making improvements in the way certain items are bought. 
•    Occasional travel required to meet with suppliers.
•    Any other role/project as deemed appropriate by the Company.

You must comply with Rich Products Limited Health and Safety policies and procedures at all times.


•    Engineering, logistics, facilities procurement background. 
•    Comprehensive knowledge of the whole end to end procurement process, including tender processes, contract negotiations, stakeholder management, SRM and best practises.
•    Extensive stakeholder management skills across all levels.
•    Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to champion the vision of the function whilst delivering best value to the organisation.
