PURPOSE STATEMENT

  • To manage and report stock movement and update the stock system, including managing the logistics of materials and processing goods in and products being despatched. Complete stock housekeeping on the ERP system to ensure accuracy at all times. 
  • Ensure handling and storage of raw materials and end products comply with company, quality, safety and legal standards.
  • Administers and operates the organisation's warehouses, including processing, packaging and storage of supplies, materials and equipment. 
  • Accounts for all materials and supplies in the stores facilities; audits goods received into warehouse
  • Oversees receipt, storage and shipment of materials, and related reporting in accordance with established procedures
  • Prepares and coordinates schedules for shipping and receiving materials to control the flow of goods and regulate warehouse space
  • Ensures the effectiveness of operating procedures, space utilisation, and maintenance and protection of facilities and equipment
  • Transports merchandise using a Mechanical Handling Equipment (MHE) to designated locations within the warehouse, which may include loading, unloading and order picking standards.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and keep up to date with company policies and procedures.
  • Manage and control all aspects of inventory from goods receipt to goods out, obsolete stock, aged stock, traceability and identification.
  • Daily, weekly and monthly inventory reconciliation between 3rd party system, physical and company ERP systems.
  • Shortage communication – communicate any shortages to order based on picking instructions.
  • Root cause investigation and corrective actions / preventative measures.
  • Maintain supplier relationships and act as main point of contact for all issues relating to stock control, goods in/ out, delivery issues and equipment.
  • Take responsibility for order confirmation, orders and warehouse enquiries.
  • Conduct data analysis of KPIs – pick accuracy, pick rates, stock counts and non-conformance reporting.
  • Carry out invoice validation for warehouse and transport invoices ensuring accurate charges are receipted and non-conformance are appropriately reflected.
  • Ensure that inventory is secure, identified and readily accessible to authorised personnel.
  • Conduct physical inventory counts and reconcile results with inventory records.
  • Measure cycle count and inventory accuracy.
  • Monitor Supplier performance; OTIF, Quality.
  • Ensure that quantities of incoming and outgoing shipments are correct and have full traceability.
  • Conduct analysis of inventory levels and co-ordinate with Production and Planning.
  • Deliver continued and sustained KPI performance, understanding the business / cost implications of decisions made.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Critical

  • FMCG background in warehousing and distribution environment
  • Thorough understanding of ERP systems
  • Fork Lift Truck (FLT) Licence and experience: Counterbalance

Desirable

  • Food industry background
  • Experience of MRP dynamics, preferably AX dynamics
  • Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and tools
  • Fork Lift Truck (FLT) Licence and experience: Bendi
