PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Machine Operator controls the conversion of liquid mix to finished product with proper equipment set-up and operation, while adhering to all food safety and food quality guidelines.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Requisitions materials
  • Operates fillers and all related equipment
  • Performs process contrl and quality checks
  • Operates date coding equipment, weight checkers, and metal detectors
  • Manages work in process and tank coordination to include performaing tank transfer line flushes as needed
  • Cleans all equipment using current sanitation practices
  • Verifies integrity of packaging, product, and code dates
  • Responsible for basic troubleshooting of all filling equipment and minor adjustments to ensure proper operations
  • Trains new associates on required skill sets for Filling Operations
  • Fills out work orders as needed
  • Directs other Associates to ensure the filler operates in an efficient manner
  • Maintains work are in a safe and orderly fashion according to GMP and Safety guidelines
  • Assists Quality Assurance in obtaining samples of products
  • Completes appropriate paperwork
  • Performs any other miscellaneous duties as assigned
  • Will be required to work in other areas as necessary

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 1+ years Machine operator experience required
  • Must have the ability to operate, input data, and monitor various automated control systems
  • Must have the ability to train other Associates
  • Must have the ability to work in and contribute to Production Improvement, Associate Involvement and Temporary Teams, as assigned.
  • Punctual and reliable in work attendance
  • Ability to organize and communicate to all levels of personnel
  • Must be able to work a schedule of 4 days of 10 hours shifts and overtime as needed
  • Must be able to operate or gain certification to operate a hand jack, forklift, scissors and boom lift

Physical Requirements of the position:

  • Continuous standing and frequent walking, bending, reaching, stair/ladder climbing
  • Wet and high noise area
  • May handle potentially hazardous material or equipment
  • Requires frequent lifting not to exceed 55.12 lbs
  • Requires repetitive motion including but not limited to hand/finger usage and gripping
  • Constant need to push and pull pallet jack to retrieve and move pallets in work area
