Purpose Statement

The Production Scheduling Manager is responsible for ensuring the seamless alignment of production schedules with material availability, optimizing inventory, and driving efficiency across the category. This position includes managing a team of planners, while directly managing the Master Production Schedule (MPS) for one specific facility. The Production Scheduling Manager will focus on achieving optimal service levels, minimizing costs, and fostering a collaborative team environment that executes best practices.

 

Mon-Fri on-site, flexible daytime hours (8am-4pm/9am-5pm CT)

 

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

· Monitor schedule adherence, identify potential risks, and propose mitigation strategies to address production bottlenecks or demand fluctuations.

· Production Scheduling: Develop and maintain a master production schedule based on production capacity and requirements passed from supply planning.

· Collaborate with production teams to ensure efficient use of resources, minimize downtime, and meet production targets.

· Completion of Run Rate Reviews to ensure accurate scheduling amounts, while ensuring demonstrated Plant Run Rates, and guiding short term and long term plant capacity and supply agreements.

· Managing Master Data metrics and ensuring accuracy to plant constraints and planning volumes.

· Monitoring consumption of materials to ensure BOM and material movement accuracy.

· PO compliance management to ensure OTIF and prevent vendor and material disruptions.

· Lead planning initiatives to optimize the balance of material inventory to efficient scheduling with the aim of servicing customers.

· Adjust schedules as needed to accommodate rush orders, changes in demand, or unexpected production issues.

· Inventory Management: Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, components, and finished products to prevent shortages or overstock situations.

· Implement inventory control strategies such as safety stock levels, reorder points, and economic order quantities (EOQ) to optimize inventory turnover.

· Supplier Management: Partner with procurement to continuously assess supplier performance in terms of quality, cost, and delivery reliability.

· Purchase Planning: Create purchase orders based on production requirements, material availability, and lead times.

· Cost Management: Analyze cost data, conduct cost-benefits analyses, and identify opportunities for cost savings in the process.

· Quality Assurance: Address and resolve quality issues with suppliers promptly.

· Data Analysis and Reporting: Utilize data analysis tools and software to track and report on key performance indicators (KPI) related to production scheduling and procurement.

· Prepare regular reports to ensure inform decision-making.

· Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, including production, logistics, sales, supply planning, STM and finance to align production schedules with overall goals.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, operations management, business, or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in production scheduling and procurement roles, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication.
  • A Master Production Scheduler / Buyer Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation of the production process while managing costs and maintaining quality standards. This position requires a strategic mindset, strong organizational skills and the ability to adapt to changing production and market conditions.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$99,705.00 - $140,760.00
