Purpose Statement
The Key Account Manager will play a pivotal role in executing the Division’s strategic priorities and Annual Operating Plan (AOP) objectives for Walmart CBD categories. This position combines strategic coordination with hands-on execution, partnering closely with National Account Managers to deliver growth against market targets. You’ll blend hunter-style account development with insights and analytics, prospecting new opportunities, driving forecast accuracy, and converting data into compelling selling stories for Walmart merchants, replenishment, and omni-channel partners.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
- Achieve Market Plan & AOP: Deliver against Annual Operating Plan objectives and market targets by executing strategic priorities and ensuring alignment with division goals.
- Support National Account Managers: Act as a key partner and right-hand resource to National Account Managers, providing analytical support, forecast management, and executional follow-through to ensure flawless delivery of joint business plans and category initiatives.
- Drive Growth: Identify new distribution opportunities in Walmart CBD categories; execute account plans and support joint business planning while delivering a Rich experience through insights-led selling and flawless execution.
- Forecast Accuracy: Own SKU-level forecasts, maintain accuracy, and partner with demand planning for proactive adjustments.
- Insights-Driven Selling: Use Walmart tools (Retail Link, Scintilla) and syndicated data to develop actionable recommendations and compelling selling stories.
- AI & Automation Adoption: Leverage AI-driven tools for predictive forecasting and insights automation; interpret outputs to inform business decisions.
- Operational Excellence: Manage item setup and compliance in Walmart systems; support omni-channel initiatives and content readiness.
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally and build strong relationships with Walmart merchants and internal teams to deliver new items and promotions.
- Administrative Discipline: Maintain accurate reporting and tracking for pipeline, forecast updates, and promotional execution; continuously improve processes to drive greater rigor and standardization over time.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

- Bachelor’s Degree required (Business, Finance, Economics, Marketing preferred).
- Minimum 3 years as a Sales Analyst or in a similar analytical role supporting retail accounts; experience transitioning into account management strongly preferred.
- Proven success in sales or account support within CPG or retail; direct selling experience a plus.
- Walmart-specific expertise: Proficiency with Retail Link, Luminate, and Scintilla; familiarity with Walmart’s item setup and scorecard processes.
- Analytical systems fluency: Ability to leverage syndicated data (IRI/Circana/Nielsen) and visualization tools (Power BI/Tableau) for insights and forecasting.
- Forecasting rigor: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain accurate SKU-level forecasts and partner with demand planning to course-correct.
- AI literacy: Familiarity with AI-driven tools for demand forecasting, predictive analytics, and insights automation. Ability to interpret and apply AI-generated recommendations in business planning.
- Strong financial acumen, including understanding of P&Ls and promotional ROI.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to craft buyer-ready presentations and deliver virtually or in person.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills with internal and external stakeholders.
- Highly organized, self-disciplined, and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Solid proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams); advanced Excel skills required.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs (e.g., product sample cases, etc.).
- Ability to stand for 6 or more hours during the workday (e.g., trade shows, product demonstrations, etc.).
