Purpose Statement
As an E&I Technician you will have complete involvement in routine or emergency maintenance as well as corrective, preventive, predictive maintenance and basic care for all electrical and mechanical equipment and their related controls. This is a 1st Shift role.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
· Observes all OSHA and facility safety rules and regulations including use of personal protective equipment.
· Follows all established Good Manufacturing Practices, including maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
· Troubleshoot, install, maintain, repair, calibrate and test a wide variety of instrumentation (including but not limited to transmitters, actuators, flow meters, sensors, Encoders, potentiometers, and control valves) for improved reliability and uptime.
· Perform preventative maintenance on electrical equipment and metering control instruments to include but would not be limited to control valves, transmitters, heat trace, cylinders, solenoid valves etc.
· Troubleshoot machine ethernet network.
· Assures preventive maintenance program is conducted on all plant equipment.
· Provides emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment in a timely manner to minimize downtime.
· Read, interpret and perform wiring tasks according to specifications and schematics for the installation and repair of production equipment.
· Troubleshoot PLC/Rockwell software and hardware, making recommendations and performing software changes.
· Troubleshoots, repairs and installs wiring circuits, transformers, motors, variable frequency drives, Servo drives, protective devices, control devices, and lighting system in compliance with electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
· Safely work with a wide variety of precision hand and power tools related to field and shop work such as electronic and electric test equipment, etc.
· Work with other departments in the planning of and installation of new equipment and system upgrades.
· Employee regularly required standing, reaching, bending, and moving about the facility.
· Vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
· Hearing ability to meet manufacturing facility safety requirements.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
· Ability to read and follow electrical prints.
· Ability to trouble shoot 440, 220, 110 vac and 24 vdc.
· Ability to use a multimeter.
· Firm understanding of pneumatics and hydraulics.
· Basic knowledge and experience in computer usage.
· High school diploma or GED required. Technical School graduate preferred.
· 3 years of electrical experience under a qualified journeyman electrician, preferred.
· Working knowledge of studio 5000 Rockwell software, and factory talk view studio a plus.
· Working knowledge of Rockwell power flex 525 drives a plus.
· Working knowledge of Rockwell hardware networking.
· Must read, write and speak English.
· A high degree of judgment is required for this job.
· Knowledge of power and hand tools.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
· Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with all employee levels at the plant as mechanics may perform training for newly acquired equipment.
