Purpose Statement

To provide effective, efficient, and courteous service to internal customers requiring MRO items.  This includes internal inventory, receipts from vendors, as well as related maintenance planning support functions. Will assist buildings and grounds department with various projects as assigned. 

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Provides service to internal customers requiring MRO items.  This includes but is not limited to the following:

 

1. Issuing spare parts and operating supplies to all Plant personnel

2. Recording all transactions by either using appropriate sign-out sheets or computer terminal. MFGpro/SAP

3.Receiving all items provided by suppliers during work shift.  This includes verifying items received against packing list and purchase order, noting all discrepancies.

4. Once items have been properly received, disbursing items to either appropriate spare parts storage shelves, Work Order parts tote or delivering to requestor if delivery is required.  If delivery is not required, the requestor should be notified that the item has arrived.

5. Ensuring established minimum levels for inventoried items are maintained.  This will be accomplished by performing physical inventories and comparing quantities on hand with established re-order quantity.  If items are at or below re-order quantity, then a Parts Order Request will be prepared and submitted to the Purchasing Coordinator/Storeroom Supervisor as for direction for action.

6. Maintains clean and orderly Storeroom and receiving area.  This will include sweeping floors, dusting, shelves, straightening inventory and general good housekeeping practices.

7. Performs all tasks within the policies, procedures, and code of ethics of the Company.

8. Maintains effective communication with superiors, co-workers and other departments, Receiving and communicating verbal information accurately and timely, respondingto requests for information and materials in a timely manner, and coordinating processes of incoming and outgoing written information.

9. Performs planning functions to assist maintenance teams in posting Preventative Maintenance Work Order lists, reports, and posting of the Production Schedules in the Maintenance Shop as they are received from the scheduler (including all revisions).                 

10. Heavy lifting, a valid driver’s license, and forklift operating are required.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • To work effectively with other Company associates; gain experience in Storeroom systems and procedures; gain further experience in computer systems of the Company; learn the related maintenance planning functions and the timing of work as associated with maintenance and repair of equipment.

 

  • Specific Company policies, procedures, and reports regarding Storeroom and Maintenance planning processes.  To be certified by the companies sponsored forklift training program to operate both the maintenance forklifts inside and outside, and other general responsibilities of the Storeroom.

 

  • Increase administrative, customer service, and computer skills; preparing reports, plans, (preparing written materials, charts, graphs, etc.).

 

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a professional demeanor.

 

  • Proficient knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.) is expected.  Individual must be a fast learner and able to assimilate new software, procedures and techniques as they are constantly introduced into this environment. 

 

  • Must be able to handle multiple assignments concurrently, possess excellent organizational and time management skills, and be able to function in a fast-paced environment. 

 

  • Must possess a high level of interpersonal skills to facilitate constant interaction with a wide variety of personalities and management styles.  Also, the ability to maintain focus on assigned tasks in spite of constant interruptions by telephone and personal contact is an essential component of the position.  Will need to be able to work effectively with others, both within the company and outside the company, to accomplish administrative duties.
