Purpose Statement
Accomplish the receiving and shipping of all materials and finished goods under the responsibility of the Freezer Department of the Brunswick plant by performing certain assigned tasks while operating electric pallet jack, pallet riders, forklifts, and reach trucks. Contribute to the profit and well-being of the Company by performing tasks in a safe, efficient, quality-conscious, and cost-conscious manner and by working in a cooperative manner with his/her supervisor and co-workers. This is a 3rd Shift role.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Learns, in general, all phases of the warehouse freezer operation from pulling from the lines, placing in storage freezer, and loading trucks on his/her assigned shift. Performs specific tasks associated with this process including, but not limited to:
Be a self-motivator once trained in the job junctions
Must have excellent vision and depth perception and ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Maintain storage facilities (cooler, freezer, and dry warehouses) in an organized manner at all times.
Must have good housekeeping skills
Receives and delivers stock to assigned areas
Be able to complete general work as assigned to the warehouse.
Input material movement in the computer using SAP.
The persons performing these tasks will spend most of the working shift standing The shipping dock is maintained at approximately 40 degrees F and the freezer is maintained at -5 to 5. When traveling to other storage buildings in order to unload trucks of frozen ingredients, the associate will be in ambient temperatures. The floors, including the docks, are concrete.
Applies all safe work practices associated with these tasks. Works in a safe manner at all times.
Applies all GMPs requirements, both personal hygiene and housekeeping, associated with these tasks. Keeps work area clean at all times, in line with plant procedures on housekeeping, waste water, and solids management.
Applies all product safety and quality requirements associated with the process at assigned positions.
Identifies problems at his/her assigned work tasks on an on-going basis and determines if solution is within his/her training and knowledge; if so, corrects problem; if not or if not sure, communicates to appropriate person for solution.
Develops and maintains a good working relationship with Freezer Team Lead/Group Lead and other managers, department members, and other co-workers. Resolves problems and conflicts in an acceptable manner that shows respect for the other person(s).
Cooperates and shows commitment to department goals and efforts; attends department meetings and participates in them to the best of his/her ability.
Works to understand overall impact of his/her job on department productivity and plant profitability; maintains high level of personal productivity and contributes suggestions for work process improvements to Freezer Team Coordinator or at department meetings.
Follows plant rules and policies and Company code of ethics in performing job.
Assists in orienting and/or training other team members on assigned tasks as requested.
