Reporting to the Manager, Health & Wellness, the Manager, Associate Wellbeing Initiatives will lead US and Canadian strategic development and management of the design, implementation and promotion of wellness programming across our footprint of over 20 manufacturing plants and corporate offices.  The impact and opportunities are broad, including but not limited to helping create positive associate outcomes improving physical, financial, and emotional health and wellbeing. 


  • Provide leadership for all new and existing programs and approaches to workplace health promotion and wellness-related initiatives, guiding field and corporate wellness teams – focusing their activities by creating a framework for the teams to execute against,
  • Determine direction for health promotion workplace wellness and evaluate overall effectiveness of such programs,
  • Create and manage partnerships with vendors and organize events to heighten awareness of health and wellness initiatives,
  • Develop workforce awareness about how wellness, fitness and nutrition and safety management programs encourage associates to be healthy and more informed consumers of their healthcare dollars,
  • Integrate effectively and seamlessly with safety and workers compensation efforts,
  • Collect and evaluate appropriate program data to support the ROI process; manage and report data maintaining accurate records and ensure confidentiality of data collected,
  • Produce outcome-focused management reports based on the identified business plan goals and objectives,
  • Oversee the World Headquarters (WHQ) onsite fitness center (outsourced) staff,
  • Plan and organize wellness programs including health awareness and educational campaigns, behavior change programs, health assessments and health screenings at all US/Canada locations; coordinate with sites on delivery and execution,
  • Coordinate marketing campaigns and program collateral for health promotion, wellness, and care management initiatives.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a related area of study including physical education, health education, exercise science, or health promotion; Master’s Degree preferred,
  • Minimum of 7-10 years’ experience in delivery and coordination of corporate-based health promotion programs,
  • Successful track record of initiating and implementing new concepts and programs, building clear messaging, associate momentum and motivation with internal teams and external partners,
  • High energy; able to work in a fast-paced environment,
  • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and Access,
  • Ability to travel (approximately 20%) to other Rich’s US and Canadian locations
  • Basic knowledge of compliance requirements (e.g., ADA, HIPPA and other regulations that affect workplace wellness)
  • Strong interpersonal communication, leadership and service skills including the ability to motivate others
  • Ability to effectively organize and prioritize work demands
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team with enthusiasm, initiative and creativity

  • Influencing Others:   understanding organizational and leader perspectives, time, and circumstances and connecting it with wellbeing initiatives in a way that creates buy-in and support across Rich’s.
  • Analytical acumen:   collecting and evaluating relevant data to ensure decisions on wellbeing are fact based, and tactics of highest organizational opportunity
  • Communicationability to deliver messages where associates are, so they will listen and understand, and ultimately consider changing behavior for personal betterment.
  • Collaboration:  ability to work across teams in a matrix environment and help influence positive outcomes across disparate business lines and functional areas.
