PURPOSE STATEMENT

Within Rich’s, as a hybrid group of Automation Engineers and Software Developers, the MES Team has a unique responsibility to support manufacturing systems while also delivering innovations to stay on the forefront of the constantly changing, data driven manufacturing world.  Our Team truly believes in our co-op program as a two-way street. We view the work as important as the journey – we love to help our co-op students feel valued, both contributing to the team while also gaining experience.

Term will be double block Spring 2020 through Summer 2020.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Develop and program enterprise level Energy Management, Quality, Lean Manufacturing, and SCADA systems to drive continuous improvements in our manufacturing operations
  • Assist project manager with internal and external project management functions
  • Serve as a technical resource on IS/automation project implementations
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues with existing manufacturing systems to ensure proper operation
  • Collaborate on a team with fellow Co-ops to execute an innovative summer project
  • Develop and maintain technical support documentation for implemented MES systems
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program in Electrical Mechanical Engineering Technology, Manufacturing Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Ability to learn and execute in a project management role, working with stakeholders in different parts of the business.
  • Willingness to learn how to communicate well with business leaders; comfortable in a public speaking/presentation position
  • Strong PC skills, proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (O365, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio)
  • Demonstrates time management, organizational skills
  • Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal skills required

Preferred:

  • Familiar with PLC programming, SDADA systems, Windows Server environments
  • Allen Bradley, Control Logix, Wonderware, SQL Database, Networking concepts
  • Previous Co-op experience
