PURPOSE STATEMENT

Rich’s Bakery department develops frozen breads, cookies, biscuits, and cinnamon rolls for Food Service and In-Store Bakery customers. Rich’s currently has a great opportunity for a Product Development Co-op in the Bakery category. This position is in the Research and Development department, is located in Buffalo, New York.  The Research and Development’s Bakery Product Development Intern will participate in research and new product development projects.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Assist in defining project objectives and project work plans

Organizing and prioritizing tasks.

Collaborate with cross functional teams: marketing, procurement, operations, and regulatory.

Conduct routine experiments/analysis, evaluating and recording results.

Assist in interpretation of data and troubleshooting failures.

Prepare prototype in development of new food products.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Must be enrolled in an accredited institution, working towards a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Food Science, or related field.

Preference will be given to those who are at a minimum of junior status (3rd year) pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical Engineering or Food Science
Excellent Microsoft office skills

Ability to work independently and with others

Demonstrate effective time management

Demonstrate ability to collaborate with a high level of motivation, and drive to successfully complete work assignments
