Rich’s currently has a great opportunity for a Process Development Engineer Co-op. This position is in the Research and Development department, located in Buffalo, New York.  The product category of concentration is Toppings Creams & Culinary Solutions (TCCS).


The primary function of this position is to assist the TCCS Process Development Engineering Team with their projects. The Process Development Engineering projects range from low to high complexity. In this job the students will utilize their fundamental engineering skills to collaborate with the Toppings Creams & Culinary Solutions Process Development Engineering Team to identify, evaluate, validate, and implement processing improvements to existing manufacturing systems, and develop proposals for improvements. The main activities required in this job are performing experiments in our R&D Pilot Plant, developing analytical tests, supporting with data analysis, and researching emerging food process innovations than can be applied with or across product categories. This opportunity is available to a student who wants to make a difference, seeks challenges, and wants to gain a solid knowledge and hands on experience in food process development.


Majors Required: Chemical Engineering, Food Engineering, or Biological Engineering

Education Requirements: Sophomore, Junior or Senior year based on credit hours

Minimum GPA: 3.0

Computer Skills: PC/Internet skills, Microsoft Office (word, excel, power point) and the ability to create flow diagrams and spreadsheets

Other Requirements: Effective verbal, written and interpersonal skills, along with time management and organizational skills
