PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Regulatory Specialist performs routine research and administrative functions to ensure Rich Products Corporation is in compliance with domestic and international food regulations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Administers and coordinates small projects or manages segments of larger projects, assisting in defining project objectives, organizing and prioritizing tasks and conducting necessary research.
  • Interfaces frequently with various internal departments (e.g. Marketing, Purchasing, Engineering), suppliers, customers and government/regulatory officials in accomplishing project milestones.
  • Reviews and approves the ingredient, nutritional and handling information on routine and customized product labels, applying a thorough knowledge of food labeling regulations.
  • Researches both domestic and international regulations, interpreting regulations in response to internal/external customer requests and departmental requirements.
  • Responds to customer's technical questions about RPC products that are received through the HelpLine
  • Extracts and enters raw material and technical information into computer system/databases. Ensures data integrity and compliance with domestic and international labeling regulations.
  • Assists in the implementation and administration of the company's Right Product/Right Label Policy, ensuring labels accurately reflect product formulas.
  • Facilitates Product Registration/Certification Administration in various international marketplaces by interacting with government officials, interpreting food and registration regulations and determining applicability to RPC. Coordinates completion of necessary paperwork/documentation.
  • Facilitates NAFTA/tariff compliance, ensuring RPC products are correctly categorized for tariff calculations
  • Resolves routine, non-routine and complex problems by applying extensive technical knowledge and experience
  • Maintains accurate, up-to-date records and databases
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor Degree in Food Science or related field
  • Atleast 1 year of industry experience
  • Strong PC / internet skills including Microsoft Office Suite
  • Proficient with relevant software tools (e.g. Optiva, Accolade, etc.), a plus
  • Work well in a team setting
  • Strong communication skills
  • Some travel (up to 10% of time)
