PURPOSE STATEMENT

Do your friends turn to you to think of their next Instagram caption? Are you constantly correcting people’s grammar? Get excited when you can write an essay instead of taking a multiple-choice exam?

Then this internship is exactly what you’ve been looking for.

The Corporate Communications team at Rich’s is looking for an energetic student and exceptionally strong writer to join us as our Communications Intern. In this role, you’ll get to write about our people and culture, products (we’re talking pizza, cookies and cakes) and the work we do in our community, while learning all about the exciting world of the food industry.

We think of our interns as an extension of our team, so you won’t just be fetching coffees or making copies. Our team of talented communications professionals will be there to guide you as you contribute to a wide variety of value-added projects and develop the skills needed to excel after college.

Speaking of projects, here’s the kind of work you’ll be given:

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Write a variety of communications for our intranet and posts for our social media channels.
    • Seriously, this is a writing intensive role. You should love creating and editing content.
  • Provide general communications support for public relations, branding, recognition, special events and other projects as they come up.
  • Assist in developing our internal podcast
  • Research best-practices for team projects
  • Bring fresh perspective to brainstorms and team meetings
  • The occasional administrative task
  • Grow. Learn. Challenge yourself. Develop as a working professional and have a lot of fun while doing it.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Current enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program or graduate degree program at an accredited university;
    • Communications, Public Relations and Journalism majors preferred. Marketing, English/Writing, Human Resources and Business majors will also be considered.
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.25 or above
  • Demonstrated leadership (we want to see campus involvement, club leaders and go-getters)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience writing in AP Style
  • Proficient with Microsoft Products
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop and Adobe Premiere a plus
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment
  • Adaptable and can-do attitude that can prioritize many different tasks at once
  • Previous internship experience strongly preferred
