Purpose Statement

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Logistics Intern to join our team. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in the fast-paced world of logistics, focusing on our operations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with our Customer & Carrier Operations team, gaining insights into the intricacies of managing carrier relationships, optimizing transportation networks, and enhancing overall supply chain efficiency.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

1.    Carrier Onboarding and Management: Assist in the process of onboarding new carriers, including conducting background checks, verifying insurance documents, and setting up contracts.
2.    Rate Negotiation and Analysis: Support the Operations team in negotiating freight rates with customers & carriers, analyzing pricing structures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities.
3.    Shipment Tracking and Communication: Monitor the status of shipments in transit, communicate with carriers to ensure timely delivery, and provide updates to internal stakeholders and customers as needed.
4.    Data Analysis and Reporting: Compile and analyze transportation data to identify trends, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports for management review.
5.    Continuous Improvement Initiatives: Collaborate with team members to identify areas for process improvement within carrier & customer operations and assist in implementing solutions to enhance efficiency and customer satisfaction.
6.    Customer Service Support: Assist in addressing inquiries and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience for both carriers and clients.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

•    Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
•    Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and draw actionable insights.
•    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with internal teams and external partners.
•    Detail-oriented approach with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
•    Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
•    Previous experience or coursework related to logistics or supply chain management is preferred but not required.
 

 

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$17.00 - $22.00
