Purpose Statement
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Freight Forwarding Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will manage import shipments, providing efficient and cost effective delivery solutions for our customers.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
• Oversee the coordination of import shipments, including the booking, consolidation, and dispatch of arriving cargo.
• Provide regular updates and respond to customer inquiries about the status of their LCL shipments, ensuring customer satisfaction and timely deliveries.
• Liaise with carriers, customs brokers, and other logistics partners to ensure the smooth handling of LCL freight, negotiating rates and services where necessary.
• Monitor and track shipments from origin to destination, ensuring adherence to schedules and resolving any issues that arise during transit. Keep tracking updated for customer reports and web inquiries.
• Ensure all shipments comply with relevant international trade regulations and customs requirements.
• Analyze freight costs and work to optimize shipping solutions while maintaining profitability for the company and value for clients.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to shipping delays, customs clearance, and damaged goods to minimize disruptions.
• Stay informed about industry trends, emerging regulations, and best practices in freight forwarding and logistics.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• 2 years of experience in a logistics or supply chain management environment. (LCL/airfreight forwarding experience preferred).
• Strong understanding of the freight forwarding industry, including international shipping regulations, customs clearance processes, and documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact with clients, vendors, and internal teams.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment while keeping cool under pressure.
• Extreme attention to detail, including the ability to predict and circumvent issues before they occur and take appropriate corrective action.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in freight management software (CargoWise One a definite plus) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong critical thinking and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to addressing challenges.
• High School Diploma/GED required. Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field is preferred.
COMPENSATION
In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
Annual Range/Hourly Rate
$49,044.32 - $66,354.08
