Manages third party warehousing and transportations vendor performance to ensure capabilities are in place to efficiently and effectively manage the throughput requirements of the Rich’s Supply Chain network. Position ensures third party compliance to the Rich’s standards for warehousing and transportation including routing guide compliance and facility performance. Facilitates daily communications for issue resolution; Develops and execute process improvements, cost reductions, order management and conflict resolution

  • Set standards of performance for the contract carriers & distribution centers consistent with departmental and company business objectives for delivery of the Rich Experience.
  • Manage & drive 3PL partners’ operational performance
  • Maintain routing guides consistent with Transportation strategy and carrier’s roles and responsibilities. Participates in freight bid process within given set of responsibilities.
  • Manages Truckload and LTL carrier relationships within Regional responsibilities.
  • Partners with Transportation and Warehousing category management leaders to analyze network opportunities, identify, and recommend network changes to support efficient, cost effective changes to support customer shipments
  • Actively participates in CS&L Daily direction setting meetings
  • Provide direct customer interface between sales team and distribution centers and transportation providers
  • Publish reports on key performance indicators for each facility managed based on required frequency
  • Accountable to audit and approve Storage & Handling invoices as well as freight invoices within regional responsibilities.
  • Establish and manage SOP to support unique requirements for International distribution
  • Develop & manage total distribution spend for 3PL partners within regional responsibilities
  • Participates with CS&L team to execute Logistics strategies and to develop and understand space requirements for facilities and lanes managed.
  • Deliver improved service and costs through focused continuous improvement initiatives
  • Provide operational interface between transportation and distribution centers (Lean, Chep)
  • Minimum of BS degree in Business or Logistics
  • Minimum 7-10 years Logistics experience; Temperature controlled warehousing and transportation experience preferred
  • Demonstrated planning, organizing and managing skills
  • Demonstrated Knowledge of Transportation & Warehousing industry – DOT Rules, Tariffs, Hours of Service, Equipment, Challenges, and Trends
  • Effective negotiating skills
  • Effective conflict resolution and facilitation skills
  • Effective written, verbal and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical & quantitative skills
  • Proficiency in Excel and Word, SAP Preferred.
