What exactly is a Manager of Associate Insights?

This role is different.  This role is game changing.  This role will shake things up. 

For a few years now, we have had a global HRIS (Success Factors, have you heard of it?).  We’ve been pretty good at reporting, pretty good at giving data, pretty good at understanding our organization.  Well, we’re sick of pretty good.  We want to be great. 

What makes this role so cool is that it is the pivot to making us great.  If you are a problem solver, innovator, life-long learner, we’re interested.  If you project positive energy, get excited about data (yes, it’s a real thing), build trust in others, we’re interested.  If you are a collaborator, thought provoker, design thinker, we’re interested.  Lastly, if you want to roll your sleeves up and dive in (we’re talking DEEP) to our data to give us some cool insights that will push our business to the next level, we’re interested.  

By the way, this role has a lot of room for exploration.  What that translates to is: you’ll be asked to listen, a lot.  Once you have listened a little more, you’ll have the freedom to make recommendations and push on the data and questions to pull out fact-based insights to what you’ve heard…kind of like a magician, only with data instead of rabbits.



So, you’re interested.  Here’s what we are thinking from a skills perspective:

  1. Ability to build strategic relationships with the HR Business Partners and Leaders to align to business needs and empower all leaders by providing high quality, easily digestible insights on their business (go deep, listen hard!)
  2. Expert understanding of systems, data and business context
  3. Experience using quantitative and qualitative analytical strategies and working with multiple data sources to generate insights from analyses, answering questions or creating solutions and manipulating data to measure the effectiveness of programs, interventions and efforts for the business
  4. Ability to make #3 fun
  5. Experience using data visualization (you know - tables, charts, graphs) and conducting research using statistical analyses (aka - correlations, regressions)
  6. Experience forming testable statements generated from inductive reasoning that can be verified via statistical and analytical means   
  7. Ability to take initiative and provide direction in an unstructured environment, comfortably managing ambiguity (you need to be comfortable not knowing what you’ll be doing Every. Single. Day.)
  8. Architect, develop and automate data and analytics solutions, iteratively build and prototype models and dashboards to provide insights at scale
  9. Manipulate and analyze large data sets to distill insights from data and connect disparate ideas into cohesive, well-grounded recommendations, using creative, structured and analytical thinking (like magic)
  10. Ability to incorporate design thinking to ensure and create effortless solutions that are simple, easy to understand and just-in-time, enabling our associate experience
  11. Active listening through the associate lifecycle to influence and transform our culture to be more associate centric
  12. Ability to teach and move the needle to improve digital maturity throughout Rich Products Corporation


Still interested?  Here’s what we are thinking from a background perspective:

  1. Bachelors degree in I/O psychology, Statistics, Analytics, Social Science, Research Marketing or other related field and 5 years experience in a Statistical/Analytical role or MBA/Masters degree in I/O psychology, Statistics, Analytics, Social Science, Research Marketing or other related field and 3 year experience in a Statistical/Analytical role
  2. Experience using quantitative and qualitative approach to create solutions
  3. Ability to collaborate on multiple projects simultaneously
  4. Excellent communications skills, service-oriented with an emphasis on creativity and diligence
  5. Ability to work in ambiguity, self-driven
  6. Excellent relationship skills, the ability to coach, influence and provide guidance at all levels in the organization
  7. Demonstrated customer-orientation including the ability to understand differing stakeholders’ perspectives and concerns
  8. Experience in data visualization tools
  9. Experience in Microsoft Office skills (O365 preferred)
  10. Experience with SuccessFactors or other HRIS systems preferred
  11. Obviously, have fun.
