PURPOSE STATEMENT

The candidate will work on modeling projects pertaining to some of the following opportunities facing Rich Products:  strategic network design, production optimization, inventory optimization, simulation for risk mitigation, carbon footprint and offset, and others!  The candidate will work with Rich’s modelers on new model creation and/or existing model enhancement.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

Tasks will include:

  • Data analysis, visualization, and storytelling of network optimization models
  • Data science research to include but not limited to machine learning, forecasting, clustering

The candidate will also work on research-based initiatives related to supply chain modeling.  In the past, innovative projects have included:

  • Sku rationalization dashboard
  • Customer clustering and suggested selling
  • Transportation cost forecasting
  • Graph Analysis database POC build

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Experience with Python or R such as (pandas, numpy, scikit-learn, etc)
  • Experience with data manipulation and comfort with handling messy and disparate data
  • Familiarity with database management using SQL or similar
  • Knowledge of optimization principles and methodologies for using software packages, familiarity with network optimization using Operations Research methodology
  • General supply chain knowledge understanding of the flow of materials from raw material to consumers in various production and distribution strategies
  • Programming and/or statistical background
  • Ability to think critically and challenge business norms
  • Able to work individually and be part of a collaborative team
  • Able to self-teach and trouble shoot solutions
  • Thrive in a fast-paced and often-changing environment
  • Proven work ethic and passion for projects
  • Strong communication (written & verbal) skills
