Purpose Statement
The Payroll Manager is responsible for managing the payroll team, processes and tax compliance. The leader is responsible for the oversight of all payroll processing, payroll tax reporting and reconciliation, payroll liability reconciliation, researching and resolving payroll issues including corrective actions, serving as liaison to auditors and other external agencies, coordinating adherence to established payroll policies, and ensuring compliance with all tax regulations and applicable laws. This position will also be responsible for the management and supervision of the payroll team, including internal and external teams (Enterprise Service Organization). including our Shared Services, and our payroll vendor relationships.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
• Strong sense of ownership and leadership of payroll processes for US and Canada
• Overseeing vendor relationship and ensure compliance with federal and state laws and regulations
• Manage and supervise the payroll team including training, coaching, development plans and quarterly performance reviews
• Oversee all payroll processes
• Meet with internal and external team regularly to communicate and review goals and objectives, project updates, outstanding issues.
• Responsible for effectiveness and efficiency of payroll operations through quality control monitoring and governance.
• Work cross-functionally with Finance, Total Rewards, HRIS, and field HR to ensure compliance and accuracy of payroll and reporting.
• Benchmark industry best practices to help drive delivery of business goals
• Generate and evaluate routine reports throughout the payroll process to identify and resolve exceptions to expected payroll output. Audit payroll and related records for accuracy, identify discrepancies, and coordinate resolution of data issues.
• Partner with ADP to ensure Ensures the accuracy of all systems settings for compliance to with tax regulations and legislation.
• Oversee the coordination of Coordinate and maintain appropriate tax compliance and reporting.
• Establish policies and procedures to ensure proper and consistent management of information and ensure adequate financial reporting controls are in place.
• Evaluate new capabilities and features of all payroll systems (ADP/eTime/Workforce Now) and assess opportunities for process improvement. Partner with ADP with vendors and shared services on process updates and improvements including the coordination Coordinate and perform testing of system upgrades and integrations.
• Provide data and serve as point person Serve as the point person and partner with applicable teams for payroll related requests during fiscal year-end audits, workers compensation payroll audit, and other audit activities as requested.
• Leads internal year-end tax reconciliation process and has oversight of the distribution of accurate annual statements of earnings
• Audit the accuracy of payroll tax filings.
• Assist in the resolution of out of balance situations.
• Partner with AD external vendor on payroll tax issues, implementing new tax jurisdictions, legislative changes, complex tax issues and resolution of tax inquiries, compliance audits and information requests from taxing jurisdictions.
• Subject matter expert for associate payroll tax issues.
• Collaborates with taxing agencies and proposes solutions for payroll tax issues.
• Researches and leads efforts to implement new tax jurisdictions and legislative changes and to provide feedback on complex tax issues or changes
• Oversight of research and resolution of tax inquiries, compliance audits and information requests from taxing jurisdictions as regulated.
• Coordinating and integrating acquisitions and mergers.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
• Bachelor's degree in business, HR, Finance or other related field and 6-8 years payroll or Finance experience with supervisory responsibilities or MBA/Master's degree in HR, Finance or other related field and 5 years' experience
• Tax and Compliance background preferred
• Demonstrated ability to lead process improvement initiatives and to develop policies and procedures grounded in best practices.
• Knowledge of employment and payroll tax laws, regulations, principles and methods.
• Ability to manage data and information with a high level of confidentiality.
• Strong analytic skills. Experience developing reports with ADP
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Excellent Microsoft Office skills

COMPENSATION
In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.
Annual Range/Hourly Rate
$98,960.00 - $148,440.00
