Purpose Statement

The Purchasing Agent ensures the procurement of raw materials and other supplies to support scheduled production and that this process is managed in the most cost effective manner and with no disruption to other processes; and is also responsible for oversight of Raw Material/Ingredient Storage and handling for Plant.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Insures that all raw materials, including packaging and ingredients, are onsite when needed to support production processes
  • MRP II transactions are accurate and timely
  • Works with R & D to ensure that materials are available for Product tests, including ingredients, packaging and labels
  • Negotiates with suppliers on best price, service guarantee and delivery dates of materials
  • Participates in the development of standard costs for products
  • Develops new suppliers when current vendors are not adequate
  • Works with vendors to resolve problems with materials supplied to us or to develop customized materials to meet our needs
  • Contributes to the success of the department and in continuous improvement to meet/exceed goals
  • Supports Corporate Vendor Contacts and works within those guidelines
  • Raw Materials/Packaging Storage and Handling Procedures are followed
  • Raw Materials/Packaging Cycle Count Systems are up and running
  • Raw Materials/Packaging Storage meets inspection guidelines for vendors

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • 3 to 5 years experience in a similar manufacturing environment
  • Candidate must have solid PC skills and familiar with MRP II, SAP programs
  • Candidate needs to possess good math and communication skills, and be customer focused

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$69,436.00 - $93,943.00
