Rich’s currently has a great opportunity for a Product Development Intern for summer 2019. This position is in the Research and Development department, located in Buffalo, New York.  The product category of concentration is Muffins, Uniced Cakes and Donuts. 


The primary function of this position is to assist the R&D Team with their projects.  Depending on the experience level, the intern may also manage their own independent project over the course of the summer.

The R&D Intern will support research and development activities focused on evaluating and improving the quality of existing and new food products and processes.  The position will involve independently scaling, making and evaluating food products and concept prototypes in the R&D lab, as well as analytical and computer-based support work.    He/she will be required to prioritize tasks related to project work, summarize results in reports when required and assist in interpretation of data from experiments/analysis. The intern will also work with cross functional teams encompassing marketing, procurement, operations, quality assurance, and regulatory.


Education Requirements: Must be enrolled in an accredited institution or recently completed a degree in an accredited institution  and enrolled into a Masters degree program. Preference will be given to those that are at a minimum of sophomore status pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Food Science/Biological Science OR related field OR student’s pursuing a Master’s degree in Food Science.  Minimum GPA: 3.2.

Other Requirements: Excellent Microsoft Office skills. Must demonstrate ability to work independently and work with others (team player). Must demonstrate effective time management skills. Must have a positive attitude and drive to successfully complete work assignments. This opportunity does not include housing.
