Purpose Statement

The Sales Assistant is responsible for selling desserts while providing excellent customer service.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Customer Service Excellence
    Provide friendly, engaging, and knowledgeable service to all customers at both the vendor cart and storefront. Create a warm, welcoming experience that reflects the brand.
  • Product Sales & Upselling
    Confidently sell a variety of bakery items, make recommendations, and upsell featured desserts, seasonal items, and bundles to maximize sales.
  • Vendor Cart Operations (Specialty Games & Events)
    Set up, operate, and break down the vendor cart during games and events. Maintain an organized, efficient, and visually appealing display while handling high-volume service.
  • Cash Handling & POS Transactions
    Accurately process cash and card transactions, manage a register/POS system, and ensure proper cash handling procedures are followed.
  • Product Knowledge
    Maintain a strong understanding of all menu items, ingredients, and allergens to confidently answer customer questions and make recommendations.
  • Packaging & Presentation
    Assist with packaging baked goods neatly and efficiently, ensuring all items meet presentation standards for both in-store and off-site sales.
  • Stocking & Inventory Support
    Restock displays, monitor product levels, and communicate low inventory to ensure continuous availability during peak times.
  • Cleanliness & Food Safety
    Maintain a clean and sanitary workspace, following all food safety and hygiene guidelines at both the cart and bakery.
  • Team Collaboration
    Work closely with bakery team to ensure smooth operations, especially during busy events and game days.
  • Brand Representation
    Represent the bakery in a professional, upbeat manner at all times, especially at public events, creating a positive and memorable impression.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous cash handling and point-of-sale (POS) experience.
  • Open and flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid New York State driver license with a clean driving record.
  • Strong customer service skills with a friendly, outgoing, and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25–30 lbs. as needed.
  • Comfortable handling food products while maintaining cleanliness and food safety standards.

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$15.94 - $21.56
