PURPOSE STATEMENT

Rich’s is growing our application delivery team at our world headquarters in Buffalo, NY. We are looking for a collaborative, self-directed, and customer focused leader to join our IT delivery team. In this critical scrum master role, you will be a servant leader for one or more SCRUM teams creating new solutions to support Rich Product’s sales and marketing (demand creation) growth strategy.  Our teams are focused on replacing manual or outdated processes and systems with newer digital solutions to modernize our demand creation capabilities.  In this role you will routinely work  to create new solutions with cutting edge cloud solutions including master data management, digital asset systems, CRM, marketing automation, analytics and machine learning.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

In this role, you will provide leadership and guidance with a hands-on approach.
•    Ability to lead a team by removing impediments, escalating issues and ensuring that the team completes their committed stories in all sprints.
•    Leads the SCRUM team in quarterly “big room” planning events, system demos, sprint backlog refinement, sprint planning and sprint demos
•    Create an environment of collaboration through strong servant leadership capabilities within the team as well as with other scrum masters and teams.
•    Partner with the team(s) product owner(s) and product management to ensure strong alignment of team’s stories to the desired product features/business outcomes.
•    Through daily stand up’s and product owner sync meetings ensure common understanding of delivery progress against sprint metrics.  
•    Monitor progress and measure team’s performance utilizing appropriate agile tools and techniques
•    Set expectations with respect to milestones and team dependencies to align stakeholders and team members.  Work with team(s) product owner(s) to communicate the scope and direction of product development across multiple levels of management and organization
•    Strong business acumen and leadership experience - proven track record of acting as a valued partner to senior leadership.
•    Ensures agile process is implemented effectively and provides coaching at the team level to maximize benefits
•    Exhibits desire to continuously learn new tools, techniques, methodologies and implement continuous improvements to maximize team effectiveness

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a ScrumMaster, XP, ScrumXP or other comparable agile delivery methodologies
  • PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP) or SAFe ScrumMaster certification active and in good standing
  • Strong PC Skills, proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project) and collaboration technologies such as MS Teams, Skype and WebEx
  • Ability to build close relationships with senior business leaders
  • Ability to lead a team utilizing strong verbal and written communication skills allowing you to present confidently to your team and other stakeholders within the delivery program
  • Capable of writing product features/user stories with clearly understood acceptance criteria and definition of done
  • Experience with software development methodologies and DevOps concepts
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills to the point of being able to help coach team members
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced results-oriented environment
  • Minimal Travel (up to 10% of time)
