PURPOSE STATEMENT

We are looking for a highly motivated, self-directed, and customer focused senior engineer to join our growing team. Here you will leverage your leadership, engineering, and project management skills to design, develop, and implement our application portfolio that helps drive productivity and efficiency in our manufacturing plants.

You should have experience with and be comfortable defining enterprise-wide automation engineering solutions based on loosely defined requirements. Strategy setting and future visioning will be a significant component of this position.

Working at Rich’s, we believe in a flexible work environment. This position can be remote, with travel to our WHQ offices in Buffalo, NY or to our manufacturing facilities located around the globe.
 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Collaborate with business partners to determine business needs, identify system requirements, and foster strong customer relations within areas of responsibility. 
  • Communicate at all levels throughout the organization on project status and other initiatives utilizing modern communication forums.
  • Provide daily direction setting and mentoring for other team members to ensure their assigned projects and support activities are completed on time and within budget.  
  • Coordinate IT/OT Engineering projects from conception through installation following waterfall and/or agile project management methodologies, ensuring projects are completed in accordance with established timelines, budgets, and quality expectations. 
  • Manage expense budgets for the team including annual forecasting and monthly reconciliation. 
  • Lead activities of internal and external system integrators, developers, and PLC programmers to ensure productivity, proper direction, and adherence to standards for project related activities.
  • Represent the company's position and interest effectively in managing outside contractors, vendors, and engineering consultants as well as maintaining a constructive, positive attitude within the facility.
     

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline, MIS, CS or related field
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in application development, and/or system integration, with at least 2 years of leadership and supervision experience
  • Minimum of 5 years in project management experience
  • Experience with LEAN manufacturing, PLC systems, SCADA, and/or MES applications
  • Strong PC skills, proficiency with Windows, Microsoft Office Suite (Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Ability to influence senior business leaders through carefully crafted and expertly delivered presentations
  • Strong ability to troubleshoot highly complicated, integrated systems
  • Demonstrated time management and organizational skills
  • Must be able to perform successfully in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment including managing multiple priorities and deadlines

 

Preferred:

  • Master’s degree in engineering and/or business
  • Familiarity with Industry 4.0 concepts including IIoT
  • PMI PMP and/or ACP certification
  • Familiarity with Windows Server architecture to support manufacturing systems including edge computing
  • Familiarity with Programming: .Net MVC C#; JavaScript; WebAPI; HTLM5 (Bootstrap, JQuery and AJAX preferred); SQL Server (stored procedures, query writing, reporting services)
  • Experience with Wonderware and Rockwell Automation programming

 

Travels regularly (up to 50% of time)
