Purpose Statement

The Senior Manager, Executive Communications plays a critical role within Rich’s Corporate Communications function, serving as a senior counselor and communications business partner to executive leaders across the enterprise — including the Associate Experience Network (AEN –our HR function), Finance, Information Technology, and other global functions.

This role is designed for a forward-thinking, digitally fluent communications leader who brings a next-generation perspective to executive storytelling and strategic communications. Working in close partnership with the Director of Executive Communications and the Vice President of Corporate Communications, this individual will help advance how Rich’s communicates — elevating clarity, connection, and impact across executive-led narratives, enterprise initiatives, and moments of change.

The ideal candidate is both a strategic thinker and a strong operator: someone who can shape executive-level messaging, anticipate communication needs, and translate complex business topics into compelling, modern communications that resonate with today’s audiences.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

Executive Communications Business Partner

  • Serve as a trusted communications counselor and strategic business partner to executive leaders across functions, including AEN (HR), Finance, IT, and other enterprise teams.
  • Provide proactive guidance on executive messaging, positioning, and storytelling — helping leaders communicate with clarity, confidence, and consistency.
  • Partner closely with executive leaders to shape narratives around strategy, transformation, performance, culture, and change.

Executive Storytelling & Strategic Message Development

  • Develop and refine executive-level communications including presentations, speeches, talking points, leadership updates, and internal messaging.
  • Translate complex business, financial, or technical topics into clear, engaging, and audience-relevant communications.
  • Ensure alignment between executive messaging and Rich’s enterprise strategy, values, and priorities.

Next-Generation & Digital Communications Leadership

  • Bring a modern, digitally savvy lens to executive communications — incorporating best practices in storytelling, channel strategy, AI-enabled tools, and evolving communication formats.
  • Partner with the broader Corporate Communications team to continuously evolve how executive communications are delivered across internal channels and platforms.
  • Help pilot and scale new approaches that increase engagement, accessibility, and impact of executive communications.
  • Expand executive visibility and grow thought leadership by leveraging emerging and underutilized channels, including LinkedIn and Viva Engage.

Enterprise Collaboration & Team Partnership

  • Work in tandem with the Director of Executive Communications and VP of Corporate Communications to strengthen executive communications strategy, planning, and execution.
  • Collaborate closely with Corporate Communications peers across internal, external, digital, and reputation disciplines to ensure integrated and aligned communications.
  • Support major enterprise initiatives, organizational changes, leadership moments, and high-visibility communications as needed.
  • Partner in the planning and execution of marquee leadership events, including creative content development, managing video production, executive presentation building, etc.

Strategic Counsel & Issue Readiness

  • Anticipate communications risks, sensitivities, and opportunities; provide thoughtful counsel to leaders navigating complex or high-stakes situations.
  • Contribute to executive preparedness for key meetings, milestones, and moments that matter — ensuring leaders are well-positioned and confident communicators.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate communications, executive communications, or a related discipline (corporate or agency background preferred).
  • Demonstrated experience serving as a trusted communications advisor or business partner to senior leaders or executives, with high degree of discretion.
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to adapt tone and style for executive audiences.
  • Strong executive presence, sound judgment, and interpersonal skills; comfortable engaging with senior leaders and navigating ambiguity.
  • Proven ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple high-visibility projects simultaneously, often under tight timelines and shifting priorities.
  • Digitally fluent, with a strong understanding of modern communication channels, tools, and emerging trends (including AI-enabled communications).
  • Highly collaborative team player who values shared success, operates with a “we” mindset and actively supports teammates during peak moments.
  • Strategic, curious, and solutions-oriented — able to think dynamically and creatively while operating with discipline and precision.
  • Experience working in complex, matrixed, or global organizations preferred. #LI-HM1 #CORP123
