PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Supply Planning Manager is responsible for management of Materials Planning, Production Scheduling, Capacity Planning, and Fulfillment Planning activities and planners.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Actively manage Sales and Operations Planning (S&OP) process to ensure a balance between customer service, manufacturing effectiveness, inventory investment and spoilage avoidance.
  • Provides direction for the development and communication of supply and demand information, the development of supply plans for designated production facilities, production lines, and contract manufacturers.
  • Oversee the development of utilization plans for designated warehouse facilities and transportation lanes.
  • Manage the raw material and finished goods inventory investments, replenishment process, and order fulfillment activities for designated plants and contract manufacturers.
  • Manage key aspects related to planning activities, acting as the main interface between manufacturing, logistics, marketing and finance within the S&OP process.
  • Manage the training and development of Materials Planners, Master Production Schedulers, Supply Planners, and Fulfillment Planners.
  • Track and report production, supply, and fulfillment related issues and planning metrics as part of the S&OP process.
  • Work as an analytical evaluator in a wide range of supply chain opportunities to help optimize total cost and service.
  • Analyze and review inventory to minimize spoilage and maximize inventory turns.
  • Ensure the alignment of raw material, conversion, and finished good strategies.
  • Conduct follow-up activities to ensure the S&OP process is performing effectively.
  • Assist in identifying, organizing and executing cost improvement programs with work groups, planning personnel to achieve cost reduction goals.
  • Analyze capacity utilization and provide information to support business case for capacity expansion.
  • Manage and Support PDP, Talent Management, Succession Planning, and Engagement processes.
  • Other tasks as necessary in the areas of inventory management, S&OP Process, Product Category Planning and Issue Resolution.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Logistics required, MBA desirable.
  • 5 -10 years of planning and/or management experience.
  • Strong statistical and spreadsheet analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing, distribution, and customer service.
  • Demonstrated experience leading teams through coaching, mentoring and training.
  • Ability to develop and execute continuous improvement activities and work with diverse teams to achieve results.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Good communication, presentation, interpersonal and listening skills.
  • Demonstrated ability in use of PC based work processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. (MS Word, MS Excel and MS PowerPoint)
  • Maintain understanding of industry inventory management techniques. (APICS certification or matriculation required)
