Purpose Statement

Intermodal Pricing Specialist supports ROAR Logistics’ sales and operations teams by providing accurate and competitive intermodal pricing spot, and RFP pricing. This role is responsible for customer rate submissions, collaborating with dray and rail providers, and ensuring pricing aligns with service and margin goals. The specialist will work closely with internal teams and external partners to obtain timely and effective pricing proposals.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

· Provide ROAR Sales Associates and customers with intermodal rates including daily spot, short-term, and long-term pricing.

· Collaborate with drayage, rail, and steamship line pricing associates to obtain rates and services in support of RFP and pricing initiatives.

· Participate in the finalization of bid packages following initial analytics review, ensuring timely and accurate rate submissions that meet customer deadlines.

· Collaborate with intermodal operations to ensure optimized rail routings that maximize margin and maintain high service quality.

· Perform monthly account reviews and update spot rates to improve competitiveness, revenue, and margin.

· Have a thorough understanding of all customers, their associated rates, and routing options.

· Monitor daily shipments to ensure proper routing and margin optimization.

· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the North American rail system and vendor service offerings.

· Resolve rate-related issues for ROAR customers in a timely and professional manner.

· Gain proficiency in ROAR's Transportation Management System (TMS) to support pricing and operational needs.

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

· Prior intermodal pricing experience, with particular emphasis on spot market rating to customers and domestic small box pricing is a plus.

· 2-3 years in logistics, transportation or pricing intermodal preferred.

· Knowledge of Canada and Mexico intermodal markets is a plus.

· High school diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred.

· Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.

· Strong written and verbal communication skills.

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships across teams and with external partners.

· Ability to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively.

· Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) preferred.

 

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates (“Rich’s”), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$50,539.00 - $68,377.00
