PURPOSE STATEMENT
The Sanitation Supervisor (Team Leader) will supervise and coordinate activities of sanitation associates ensuring proper sanitation practices. This role is 4PM - 1:30AM, with flexibility needed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
• The Sanitation Supervisor will oversee sanitation associates and will motivate, mentor and train on sanitation standards and procedures
• Inspects equipment ensuring regulatory requirements are met and plant equipment is clean and safe for productions
• Develops SSOPS and establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules
• Creates master sanitation schedule
• Inspects premises for unsanitary practices and conditions and directs cleaning of equipment and work areas
• Conducts sanitation audits and compiles required reports regarding regular inspections, sanitation violations, and steps taken to resolve deficiencies
• Be able to use chemicals in a safe manner (follow chemical instructions)
• Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations
• Prep all lines for pre-op inspection in a timely manner
• Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving work problems
• Maintain knowledge, understanding and adherence to safety policies, FDA regulations, GMP’s, HACCP, and sanitation rules and regulations, and company policies
• Responsible for writing work orders for any equipment needing repair
• Keeping and maintaining the sanitation training matrix and sanitation verification records
• Assisting other departments as requested in a safe and timely manner.
• Work safely at all times and report any unsafe conditions or injuries immediately.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
• 3 years of sanitation supervisory experience in a food-processing, pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing organization, preferably using computerized manufacturing equipment.
• HS or equivalent required. Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Operations, Food Science, Engineering or related field preferred.
• Working knowledge of FDA regulations, USDA regulations, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), HACCP, food allergens and pest control.
• Demonstrated knowledge of refrigeration.
• Demonstrated understanding of production scheduling and other production variables such as run-rates, processing times, change-over times, etc.
• Demonstrated knowledge of efficient and safe manufacturing operations to include product and associate safety, OSHA standards, product quality (success rates), cost control (minimizing downtime and waste, optimizing yield)
• Demonstrated ability to direct, coach, and train associates as well as plan, monitor and schedule work.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems.
• Demonstrated mechanical and spatial aptitude, including the ability to disassemble and reassemble equipment.
• Demonstrated ability to formulate and understand complex mathematical equations including basic statistical analysis.
• Proficient using Excel, Outlook and Word. SAP a plus
• Be able to lift 50 lbs and work in wet and dusty conditions.
• Not afraid of heights and able to climb ladders as needed
• Ability to speak Spanish a plus
