PURPOSE STATEMENT

Provide direction and leadership to all Production Associates to ensure production quality is maintained and established procedures, standards and policies are followed. In addition to providing the Customer with the highest quality product, Group Line Leaders promote a positive work environment for associates that is safe, clean, and productive to encourage employee retention.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Determine product makeup and ensure that it is in line with specifications and make appropriate alterations or recommendations.
  • Assist in product changeovers and notify appropriate personnel.
  • Ensure machine speeds, product weight, and production equipment is within working standards
  • Communicate with Quality Assurance Team to determine quality assurance and make or recommend appropriate adjustments.
  • Monitor product packaging, product coding and metal detector to ensure it is correct and within established standards.
  • Provide relief or assistance on the product line when required, i.e. lunch breaks, short term absenteeism.
  • Schedule breaks/lunches to occur in a timely manner while maintaining line efficiencies.
  • Communicate to Associates and Team Leaders in an effective professional manner.
  • Responsible for proper crewing of shifts
  • Responsible for keeping the work area clean and maintaining good manufacturing practices.
  • Provide leadership in safe work habits and adherence to safety rules and regulations.
  • Complete maintenance work orders and follow up as required and communicate with Team Leader.
  • Provide ongoing communication with Team Leader and all affected departments, sharing information and making appropriate recommendations and decisions related to performance and productivity.

 

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • High degree of judgment and organizational skills 
  • High School graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Food manufacturing experience 
  • Strong math skills
  • Speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a Plus)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate and work safely around machinery and equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to document and measure results
  • Teamwork building skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ability to follow procedures
  • Thorough understanding of food safety basic and associate safety basic practices.
  • Must have a high a level of manual dexterity.
