f’real, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Rich Products Corporation, designs, sells and markets authentic milkshakes, smoothies and frappes all made from real ingredients – ice cream, fruit, milk and coffee. f’real f’natics freshly blend our delicious products in our patented blender in almost 20,000 locations across the globe.  f’realies (aka employees) have one purpose – to create happiness in a cup for people everywhere by blending delicious flavors with magical moments!

 

Meet Your Job 

Our latest blender is a masterpiece of electro-mechanical sophistication (if we do say so ourselves), with lots of electronics, a couple of computers, tons of sensors, several motors, built-in diagnostics and remote cellular monitoring. We’re in the process of bringing more versions to market and we’re looking for a smart and capable Senior Embedded Firmware Engineer to lead our firmware and other software development and enhancement activities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Create firmware for microcontrollers 
  • Analyze, program, troubleshoot, and document the hardware and firmware of embedded electrical systems with an emphasis on motion control and digital and analog controls (PID) 
  • Participate in hardware and firmware design reviews 
  • Guide technical team on system performance and integration requirements 
  • Provide written reports, protocols, and engineering documentation for testing and data analysis of component parts and integrated systems 
  • Provide design know how for external vendors and supplier development 
  • Manage external consultants and contractors 
  • Support other groups during integration of hardware, firmware and software

You have strong communication skills and are able to effectively convey hardware and firmware requirements and designs to team members of all levels. 

 

Qualifications:

  • BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related Engineering degree 
  • 7+ years of professional experience in embedded electrical systems design and test 
  • Proficiency with Microchip PIC microcontrollers 
  • Proficiency with C/C++, assembly, compilers and debuggers 
  • Experience with collaborative source code control environments such as GitHub 
  • Electronics troubleshooting skills with ability to use oscilloscopes, signal generators, logic analyzers, and other lab equipment 
  • Positive and fun outlook…we’re in the milkshake business after all! 
  • Some domestic and international travel required.
