We are in search of an experienced Team Leader/Supervisor who will be responsible for applying their manufacturing knowledge and expertise on the plant floor. The successful candidate will play a key role in the success of our organization by overseeing our production lines and associates and implementing industry best practices while facilitating a positive relationship between personnel and senior management.

PURPOSE STATEMENT

To ensure production at the Fort Erie Plant is carried in the most efficient, safe, and high quality manner possible.  This position is responsible for assisting in the direction, development, and administration of the Bakery and Parbake Operation.

 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

  • Supervise Parbake Operation and/or Frozen Dough Plant as needed for a 6 day week production.
  • Responsible Management Representative on site while in charge of operation and support groups
  • Ensure all work is completed on schedule, within spec., and safely
  • Ensure all Company Policies and Procedures, Provincial Laws are adhered to
  • All decisions made within confines of Collective Agreement
  • Ensure that sufficient training is provided to all associates
  • Production Throughputs, Food Safety Program, Quality and Safety
  • Responsible for supervision of Line Coordinators as well as all Bakery Associates to ensure production and quality products meets scheduling needs.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • Parbake, Bakery (Frozen Dough) knowledge
  • 5 years supervisory experience, preferably in a unionized environment
  • Community College diploma or Food Science degree
  • Knowledge of OHSA, ESA, etc.
  • Knowledge of computers and MS Office
  • Knowledge of GMPs, Food Safety, and HACCP
  • Experience in a food manufacturing environment considered an asset
  • Motivator, conciliator, firm but fair
  • Superior communication skills
  • Spends considerable periods of time on their feet walking the plant, climbing stairs, ladders, etc.
  • Must be able to lift up to 22kg.
