Purpose Statement
The Pet Care Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily care, safety, and well‑being of animals on site. This role ensures high‑quality care standards, coordinates scheduling and services, supports pet owners with communication and updates, and maintains organized records related to health, feeding, and activities. The Pet Care Coordinator serves as the primary point of contact for all pet-related needs and works closely with pet owners.
Additionally, the role includes various housekeeping duties for multiple homes and structures on the property to be assigned by the lead housekeeper as time allows after pet care responsibilities.
This is a part time,seasonal opportunity and work hours will vary and will require overnights, weekend and holidays as needed.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Animal Care & Welfare
• Ensure all pets receive proper feeding, hydration, exercise, socialization and grooming according to individualized care plans.
• Coordinate walks, manage and supervise outdoor playtime.
• Bathe and brush as necessary and/or specified by owner.
• Monitor animals’ health, behavior, and overall condition; promptly identify and report any concerns.
• Administer basic medications or treatments as directed by a veterinarian or care plan
Scheduling & Coordination
• Create and maintain daily/weekly schedules for feeding, walking, playtime, grooming, training, and veterinary visits.
• Coordinate any applicable external services (veterinary appointments, groomers, etc.).
• Arrange transportation for pets as needed.
Communication & Documentation
• Maintain accurate records of pet health, vaccinations, dietary needs, behavioral notes, and service history.
• Provide regular updates and communication to pet owners.
• Prepare and maintain emergency contact lists, medical files, and care instructions.
Home Care & Supply Management
• Ensure pet care areas remain clean, safe, and well organized.
• Monitor inventory of food, treats, medications, toys, cleaning supplies, and equipment; coordinate reorder as needed.
• Implement and uphold hygiene and safety standards for all pet environments.
• Various housekeeping duties will be assigned by lead housekeeper as time permits outside of the pet care responsibilities.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Qualifications
Experience in animal care, veterinary assistance, grooming, boarding, or related fields preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
Excellent communication and record keeping abilities.
Ability to safely handle pets of various sizes, temperaments, and needs.
Knowledge of basic animal health, nutrition, and behavior.
CPR/First Aid certification for pets is a plus.
Must have driver's license and vehicle.
Physical role requiring lifting, bending, walking, and interacting closely with animals.
