PURPOSE STATEMENT

The purpose of a Production Group Leader is to coordinate the actions of a group within a team of Associates responsible for converting raw materials into finished goods in compliance with the Rich’s Manufacturing System.  This position communicates expectations and schedules to the group, ensures materials, machinery, and tools are available throughout the shift, trains associates and monitors their adherence to standard work, and drives continuous improvement a minimum of 15 minutes per day.   

This position is an hourly that coordinates the actions of 10 to 15 Associates; trains, coaches, and recommends other actions for the group as appropriate; facilitates two way communications; operates production equipment when required; and is responsible for carrying out the directions of the Production Team Leader.  The Production Group Leader’s focus is 20% on planning daily requirements and 80% on executing those requirements. 

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

  • High School graduate or equivalent (GED)
  • Food manufacturing experience (1 to 2 years)
  • Strong math skills
  • Speak, read, and write English (Spanish is a Plus)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Problem solving skills
  • Ability to operate machinery and equipment
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
  • Ability to document and measure results
  • Teamwork building skills
  • Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices
  • Ability to follow procedures
