Purpose Statement
Ensure that products meet customer specifications and company quality standards. Recommend improvements in manufacturing, quality, and sanitation practices.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Adhere to all Quality Assurance and Plant Operations specifications.
Monitor, document and verify the HACCP system ensuring all products meet CCP requirements or have adequate corrective actions.
Non-conforming Product: Ensures product is placed on hold and works with Team Leaders to investigate causes. Assist with implementation of problem solving and corrective action.
Oversee the placement, removal, and communication of issued hold tags and related documentation.
Retest/sample hold product including shipping product to lab for analysis.
Conduct sensory evaluations
Navigate and perform all tasks related to Plant Programs and initiatives (TPM, Galaxy, S4Hana, Bullseye, Kleanz, etc.)
Learn and navigate PatrolSuite, TPM Mobile, PowerBi, and other tracking improvement tools.
Conduct all forms of CCP monitoring – (Cooking, Hot Holding, Cooling.
Computer literacy navigates computer systems. (SAP, Excel, Word) Scan barcodes etc.
Demonstrate ability to adhere and enforce the HACCP Plan, GMP’s, ARED.
Communicate with Production leadership
Conduct daily pre-operation inspections, documenting any issues and the corresponding corrective actions. (Shift dependent)
Conduct operational sanitation inspections including verification of GMP’s.
Calibrate thermometers daily and document
Perform observations and validations per policy. Checks include the following: Net weights, check the code and / or the use by date, check label revision number, check, for proper documentation of ingredients and food contact packaging for traceability.
Completes facility, ingredient and/or packaging material holds as needed.
Assist in QA training of production in food safety programs including GMP’s, HACCP, allergen control, food defense, traffic patterns and color codes.
Evaluate sauce batches for ingredients, flavor, viscosity and pH before use.
Understanding this role has shared job responsibilities Production / QA follow all assignments directed by Production Team leaders.
Perform all other duties assigned by supervision.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
Significant post high school educational experiences with 3-5 years’ experience in quality assurance
Must be able to learn and use various software programs as needed such as SAP.
Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
Proficient using Microsoft Word, Excel and Access
Demonstrate effective communication skills
Must communicate with all members of leadership.
This position may be required to perform other duties and assignments as directed by management. This flexibility ensures that the team can adapt to changing business needs and maintain operational efficiency
TPM Awareness: understanding the lean philosophy of TPM and a safe working environment
Physical Requirements
Will be required to perform tasks such as lifting up to 50 pounds, walking, standing, climbing, reaching, stooping, pulling, pushing, grasping, and balancing as part of production activities out on the floor.
Will be required to see and hear well enough to understand Associates questions and respond to their concerns.
This person will be required to work in freezers and near noisy machinery as part of daily production activities. Working safe is a condition of employment.
