Purpose Statement

The primary function of an Assistant Mechanic is to maintain, repair, replace, modify and install plant, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and other related controls for all plant manufacturing and support equipment while under the direction of the Head Mechanic.  This is 1st shift role, requiring candidates to have "gable top packaging" experience.

Key Accountabilities and Outcomes

  • Repair, replace, troubleshoot various manufacturing, packaging and support equipment
  • Make necessary adjustments on a daily basis to ensure quality meets production specs
  • Perform preventative maintenance to ensure that equipment continues to operate efficiently
  • Strong technical ability and mechanical aptitude to troubleshoot and modify equipment
  • Inspects, tests and repairs mechanical machinery, parts and hardware in equipment
  • Reading, writing, organizational and good communication skills
  • Inform management of any unresolved or problem equipment
  • Assists in commitment to food safety principles and procedures, GMPs and HACCP
  • Reliability and dependability
  • Ability to follow all safety rules
  • Assists in the commitment to overall implementation of food safety policies and procedures, including HACCP, GMPs and good employee hygiene
  • Ability to meet the physical demands of the job (standing, lifting, pushing, pulling, etc.)
  • Make decisions, solve minor problems and notify Supervisory personnel when necessary
  • Assist in other job functions as needed including packaging

Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

  • Must have 3 years previous experience as a mechanic in a manufacturing setting
  • Must have prior knowledge and ability to repair Nimco packaging machinery
  • Must have experience and working knowledge of "gable top packaging" functions and procedures

 

 

COMPENSATION

In accordance with state law, the rate or range provided is Rich Products Corporation, its subsidiaries and affiliates ("Rich's"), reasonable estimate of the base compensation for this role. The actual amount may be higher or lower, based on non-discriminatory factors such as experience, knowledge, skills, abilities, shift differential, and location.

 

Annual Range/Hourly Rate

$25.00 - $35.00
