Purpose Statement
General upkeep of the buildings, kitchen equipment and company vehicles. Routine inspections, and minor repairs to ensure a facility and equipment remains in safe, functional, and optimal condition.
Identifying and resolving issues, and managing maintenance supplies. Responsibilities include tasks such as electrical and plumbing fixes, preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, general cleaning.
This role requires a combination of technical skills, organizational abilities, and good communication to collaborate with other staff and external vendors.
Key Accountabilities and Outcomes
Building and Equipment Maintenance:
Conduct inspections to identify potential problems and perform routine maintenance on building systems like electrical, plumbing (HVAC/AC and Refrigeration Experience Preferred)
Repairs and Upkeep:
Make minor repairs to building components such as walls, doors, and fixtures.
Preventive Maintenance:
Carry out (or make arrangements with external vendors) regular preventive maintenance tasks according to schedules and checklists to ensure equipment functions efficiently.
Operational Tasks:
As needed, assist with facility upkeep, such as cleaning areas, replacing supplies, and maintaining walkways and landscaping.
Inventory Management:
Monitor the stock of maintenance supplies, tools, and parts, and order replacements as necessary.
Coordination:
Schedule and coordinate service calls with outside contractors and vendors for specialized or complex repairs.
Safety Compliance:
Follow all established safety rules and procedures to maintain a secure working environment.
Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or certification in HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or general maintenance preferred.
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in building maintenance, facilities management, or a related field preferred
Ability to use common and specialized maintenance tools and equipment
Skill in diagnosing issues and implementing effective solutions.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and complete them efficiently and accurately.
Effective verbal and written communication skills to interact with colleagues and suppliers.
Capability to lift and move objects and perform physically demanding tasks.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb ladders, and perform physical tasks.
Comfortable working in various environments (indoor/outdoor, hot/cold conditions).
Meticulous observation to identify potential problems and ensure tasks are completed correctly.
Understanding of safety protocols and building codes.
