This food service professional will have overall responsibility for managing the operation of the restaurant to maximize profitability, ensuring superior service, product quality and driving brand and value initiatives, restaurant performance, guest satisfaction and the development of associates.

The Restaurant Manager is one of the first associates to interact with arriving guests. They are the personal representation of the service and overall “experience” of the restaurant. 

  • While guests are waiting to be seated or waiting for take-out orders to be ready, it is the job of the Restaurant Manager to ensure that the guests are made comfortable and kept informed of the status of their wait times and orders. The Restaurant Manager should suggest waiting at the bar if dining in.
  • Monitor the open dining sections of the restaurant, estimating wait times for guests, monitoring the guest waiting list, and ensuring that the needs of the guests are met while they are waiting.
  • Responsible for answering the telephone, booking reservations and assist with moving tables together to accommodate large parties.
  • Escort the guests to their table and present menus; ensure all menus are wiped down, free of spots or stains, and complete.
  • Communicate with servers, e.g. when guests are seated, when sections become full.   
  • Ensure entry doors are clean, free of debris and inviting; inspect dining room for neatness and cleanliness
  • Say a warm goodbye and thank you to guests
  • Use the manager card in the following capacity: discounts, voids, close checks if necessary and handle end of shift server check outs.
  • Resolve complaints efficiently and satisfactorily. Check on guests during dining experience.
  • Ensure all restaurant standards are being met at all times.
  • Assists or fill in for FOH staff as needed.
  • Assist in the management of FOH weekly schedule.
  • Assist bar manager with daily/weekly spirit and wine orders. 


  • Bachelor's degree preferred; HS diploma required
  • Very personable and professional
  • Ability to read and write English fluently
  • Follow instructions verbally and in written form
  • Have basic assessment and math skills to estimate wait times for guests
  • Fluent in foreign language(s) is an asset but not required
  • Flexible, adapts to change well
  • Self-directed with strong verbal and organizational skills; personable
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring skills
