PURPOSE STATEMENT

The Lead Sales and Service Supervisor will oversee the performance of the golf shop and golf services teams and assure the Rules and Regulations, Policies and Procedures are in place and being followed.  The position will promote an exceptional “golf experience” and provide excellent service and programs for all patrons.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
  • Effective management and supervision of all golf shop and outside services sales and service staff
  • Implementation of policies and procedures including cost effective scheduling of related staff
  • Ensure that all team members are fully trained and dedicated to the Palm Beach National fun and friendly experience.
  • Answer the phone and interact with all guests enthusiastically. Fully understand and communicate the benefits of Palm Beach National.
  • Politely and efficiently collect player profile information for future marketing opportunities.
  • Introduce his/herself by name to guests. Remember guest names and refer to them as Mr., Ms., sir, or ma'am.
  • Responsible for marketing, promoting and achieving individual and team sales goals for greens fee and play product sales and Tournament sales
  • Oversee Sales and Service Specialists, guest service team members and course ambassadors to ensure that maximum service standards are met
  • Oversee and insure the maintenance of golf car fleet
  • Oversee the reservation system, starting and monitoring of play
  • Develop and manage an innovative tournament program that will service all segments. Meet, coordinate, and assist with tournaments and their contact personnel
  • Maintain close working relationship with the Superintendent and other department heads
  • Marketing and promotion of all play programs
  • Conduct employee evaluations and reviews as required
  • Monitor and evaluate employee work performance including discipline when necessary
  • Establish sales goals and forecasts for all golf programs and services, produce, monitor and analyze reports
  • Schedule and control all payrolls for the golf operations including the Golf Shop, Outside Services, Course Ambassadors, etc. 
  • Assist in the publication of newsletters, informational and promotional materials.
  • Prepare appropriate comparison studies from market competition to help properly position the facility in the marketplace
  • Schedule and facilitate staff meetings to assure appropriate and timely communications with all department personnel
  • Complete other projects and work requirements as necessary
  • Greet and thank guests on a personal level. Assist guests in every way possible
  • Maintain a clean and safe working environment at all times.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Exceptional communication and management skills. Capable of building a team working environment
  • Ability to motivate and lead by example
  • Able to recognize, assimilate situations and resolve issues quickly without causing discourse  
  • Above average organizational skills and the ability to accomplish tasks in a timely and cost efficient manner 
  • Capable of handling multiple tasks in a proficient manner without negatively impacting outcome of any individual project
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, ability to maintain a professional attitude working with vendors, residents, pass holders, customers, other golf courses or clubs, all levels of staff.
  • Maintain a pleasing personality along with a constant smile and positive attitude
  • No less than two years in the golf business as a key staff associate
  • Current driver’s license
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
  • General knowledge of the rules of golfTournament sales and coordination experience   
  • General computer skills w/ Microsoft Word, Excel, Tournament Programs and POS system
